The Biden regime really hates the idea that there are any tech companies out there that they cannot use to spy on and censor Americans. Just look at the way they’re freaking out over Twitter/X, which may only survive for another month or so before it goes out of existence.
When Donald Trump was in office, things came very close to the point where TikTok was going to be banned in America. The Chinese were blatantly and brazenly spying on Americans with the social media app. Biden is taking a different approach. He wants TikTok to give the US federal government control of the app, so they can use it to spy on us instead of China. And that’s… somehow better?
We know this because Forbes has obtained a 100-page draft agreement between TikTok, the Biden Department of Justice and the Department of Defense. Biden is strong-arming TikTok into playing ball and letting his regime have operational control of it, otherwise he’ll ban it from most devices in America.
The draft has a whole host of demands from the Biden regime, which illustrate just how preoccupied they are with being able to spy on and censor Americans via social media.
The agreement would allow the federal government to examine TikTok’s US offices, records, equipment and service at any time and with zero notice. All this really does in effect is allow the US government to spy on Americans without a warrant, via TikTok’s technology.
The Biden regime would also have veto power over any changes to TikTok’s terms of service, moderation policies or privacy policies. Biden could also veto TikTok from hiring any person from working on the company’s data security.
The Biden agreement would also force TikTok to subject itself to multiple audits every year—and to pay for the audits out of their own pocket. Plus, the agreement would allow Joe Biden to order ByteDance (the Chinese company that owns TikTok) to shut down TikTok’s functions in the US whenever Biden sees fit to do so.
Like if there’s a big election coming up in 2024 or something, and Biden doesn’t like all the people posting videos criticizing him or pointing out that he took bribes from Ukraine and other countries.
There are two main observations we want to make about this draft agreement. First, it is no different than the agreement that the Communist Chinese Party forces social media companies to agree to if they want to operate on Chinese phones and devices. Before anyone starts bleating about how “fair is fair,” that’s not how the US federal government should be approaching things. The federal government’s priority in situations like this should always be to expand freedom of speech and the open exchange of ideas online.
Which would be preferable in the long run? Urging China to allow more freedom of speech, or adopting the same draconian Chinese tactics against American citizens? The answer should be obvious.
The second thing that jumps out is that this is basically the same agreement that the Obama-Biden administration forced all the major social media companies to agree to back in 2011, before the CIA used the platforms to foment the so-called “Arab Spring.” That’s the real reason why everyone pooped their pants when Elon Musk bought Twitter last year. No one was ever supposed to find out that social media companies employ thousands of people whose only duty is to sit there and nuke dissident opinions all day long. For all we know, the thousands of employees that Musk fired during the first weeks after his takeover may have been double-dipping—collecting salaries at the same time from the federal government and Twitter.
We know all of this thanks to Musk releasing the so-called Twitter files. Jack Dorsey, for all his faults and Rasputin-style weirdness, wasn’t even running Twitter any longer when Musk bought it. Dorsey had no idea what was going on with his own platform that he built from the ground up, because the feds had completely taken it over.
Don’t be fooled by the Biden regime’s attempts to “regulate” TikTok. They don’t care that China uses the platform to spy on Americans. They’re just jealous that TikTok is an online space that they can’t use to spy on and censor us.
