Biden Wasting More of Your Money: Journalists Now Get Taxpayer Funded Counseling if You Taunt Them Online

Mainstream media reporters can now access taxpayer funds for counseling if you point out that their reporting is garbage on the internet. This story is a great example of why the MAGA coalition in Congress wants to switch to single-subject bills. If you want to fund the Department of Defense or the Department of Agriculture, there should just be one bill related to that subject, instead of these 2,300-page Omnibus abominations where they can slip literally anything into it.

With all the problems in America right now, does anyone believe that taxpayers were clamoring to have their money spent to provide counseling to snowflake reporters? Congress appropriated the money last year, and now Joe Biden has awarded almost $6 million to George Washington University for a program that will provide psychological care to reporters who suffer from “misinformation-driven harassment campaigns.”

We all know what this is, obviously. Thanks to the internet—and especially Twitter these days, although the platform still has a long way to go—regular, everyday folks can easily debunk the fake news media. If a reporter is lying or spreading propaganda, they get called out on it. Sometimes this is done in hilarious fashion, and sometimes it’s unkind. Those are the breaks. The media has gotten away with lying to the American people for so long now that the people just won’t put up with it anymore.

That’s what’s being labeled as “misinformation-driven harassment campaigns” by the Biden regime. They hate that Americans now have the ability to fact-check media lies and propaganda in real time. Maybe if journalists went back to doing their jobs, they wouldn’t be getting “harassed” so much by misinformation spreaders.

We’ve turned a strange corner, however, when journalists need psychological care for the regular sort of stuff that happens on social media all the time.

The Daily Caller reports that the taxpayer-funded counseling program is called Expert Voices Together.

The program is “a socio-technical system that provides real-time support to experts experiencing online harassment.” The project’s goal is to provide journalists, and eventually other “experts,” with means of “monitoring and reporting” whenever you make fun of them, along with “personalized assistance with digital safety” and access to “mental health care specialists” as a form of “trauma-informed care.”

Notice the “monitoring and reporting” section of that. This is yet another effort from the Biden regime to chill freedom of speech in America. As the journalists are signing up for fainting couch services with a shrink, they can also report YOU for teasing them.

So, you’re going on a list if you fact-check a journalist. Maybe an FBI SWAT team will have to show up at your door and kill you, like they’ve done to multiple Trump supporters this summer because of their alleged online comments. You can’t be too careful when dealing with “misinformation.”

You may have heard by now that “journalist” Michael Wolff has just come out with a new book, in which he claims that Ron DeSantis kicked Tucker Carlson’s dog at lunch earlier this year. According to the book, Susie Carlson was appalled when DeSantis kicked one of the Carlsons’ beloved Spaniels.

On the one hand, that’s hilarious. The DeSantis campaign has been run so poorly this year that you could kind of see that actually happening. On the other hand, Michael Wolff’s reporting always has about the same level of competence and believability as Hillary’s Russian potty dossier.

I’m just going to go out on a limb and publicly state that Michael Wolff is a known liar. Does he deserve taxpayer funding for counseling now? In Joe Biden’s eyes, he does, because I’m the one spreading “misinformation” by noting that the DeSantis dog-kicking incident never happened. Just like the Kristi Noem-Corey Lewandowski “affair” never happened.

The problem is not that journalists need counseling when they get fact checked. The problem is that journalists have turned their profession into a dumpster fire. They did this to themselves, and now taxpayers are expected to foot the bill for their mental illness.

Would you like to suffer less from mental illness, journalists? A wise man once said, “The truth shall set you free.” Try telling the truth for a change. You’ll feel better about yourselves. Plus, we’d really appreciate it if Congress would stop spending our tax dollars on junk programs like this.
