Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) committed a violent act of insurrection inside the US Capitol on Friday. He pulled the fire alarm in a terrorist attack that interrupted an official proceeding of Congress, which we all know is a crime worse than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined. We were seconds away from LOSING OUR DEMOCRACY!
Naturally, Republicans in Congress have a slightly different take on how justice should play out in this instance. They’re moving to expel Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) from Congress this week.

Fire Alarm-Gate is seriously some of the worst gaslighting we’ve ever seen from the Democrats and the media. It’s not as bad as the gaslighting about how Joe “Daddy Please Don’t I’m in the Shower” Biden allowed Hunter to transfer cash through his 20 shell companies and into his bank account because he really, really loves his son a lot and WHY ARE YOU PICKING ON A FATHER WHO LOVES HIS SON??! But it’s still pretty bad gaslighting.
We are being expected to believe that Jamaal Bowman was innocent in all of this. He used to run a school, but you’re supposed to believe he does not know what a red-and-white fire alarm with the word FIRE printed on it does. You’re supposed to believe that a grown man thought the FIRE alarm would cause the doors to open, after he first ripped down the Emergency Exit Only signs that were on the door.
There’s security footage of him ripping the signs down and then pulling the fire alarm. That’s way worse than what 99% of the January 6ers did, which has them all rotting in prison now. So, what’s the standard, Democrats? Should Jamaal Bowman be spending the rest of his life in prison for committing a violent insurrection? Or does his black privilege ensure that Rep. Jamaal Bowman gets to do whatever he wants?
January 6ers who have been charged with obstructing an official proceeding of Congress—which is exactly what Jamaal Bowman did—are being sentenced to anywhere between 2 and 6 years in federal prison, just on that charge alone.
If we lived under the “equal justice for all” system that we used to have in this banana republic, Jamaal Bowman should have an FBI SWAT team kicking down his front door right about now. He should be thrown in the DC gulag for a year or two in solitary confinement before his trial starts. Oh, and his lawyer shouldn’t ever be allowed to see any of the security footage, because it somehow endangers national security if a person on trial can see the J6 security footage. That’s the standard the rest of us are being held to.

Matt Gaetz fought House Speaker/Serial Liar Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) all last week in an effort to get Congress to pass single-subject spending bills, instead of a gargantuan continuing resolution (CR) like they’ve been doing since George W. Bush was in office. After cutting a secret deal with the Democrats, McCarthy snuck a stopgap CR through that will fund the government for the next 45 days.
It’s the latest in a never-ending string of broken promises from Kevin McCarthy. Matt Gaetz has had it with McCarthy’s lies, so he’s trying to pull the plug on Kevin’s Speakership this week. He says he’s filing a motion to vacate the chair. In response, Gaetz’s Republican colleagues are preparing a motion to expel Gaetz from Congress.
By the way, we’ve now seen more security footage of Jamaal Bowman pulling the fire alarm than the January 6 prisoners have been allowed to see of their non-fire-alarm-pulling time in the US Capitol. That’s because Kevin McCarthy broke his promise about that too. In order to become Speaker back in January, McCarthy promised to release all the J6 footage publicly. He promised single-subject spending bills instead of anymore ridiculous CRs.
Matt Gaetz deserves to be Speaker of the House and Jamaal Bowman deserves to be in a cell next to the January 6ers. Unfortunately, the corrupt banana republic government we’re living under is never going to allow either one of those things to happen.
If he was a Republican they’d have his ass in jail asking for 20 yrs!

I am almost 80 years old (hate to say it but there it is) and have never seen anything like what is going on with this administration in my many years. I remember my Mother and Father talking about Joe Biden when I was a lot younger (as you might have guessed) then and although they were Democrats (nothing like the ones today) and how they disliked him.
