A House Democrat has finally said what many Americans suspected for years: Democrats view illegal immigration as a necessary tool for them to win elections. In a resurfaced 2021 clip that’s now going viral, Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY) bluntly admits that migrants are needed to reshape districts and secure Democrats’ political dominance—proving that for her party, mass migration isn’t about compassion. It’s about seizing power.
“I’m from Brooklyn, New York. We have a diaspora that can absorb a SIGNIFICANT number of these migrants.” She said.
“You know, when I hear colleagues talk about, you know, the, the, the doors of the inn being closed [and] no room in the inn, I, I’m saying, you know, I, I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes.”

Redistricting is the process of re-drawing a state’s congressional districts, state and local districts that takes place after the census. Basically it determines how much power each jurisdiction gets.
Clarke’s comments make it clear that she doesn’t care about the people of her district and how the influx of illegals might impact them – she only cares about getting more power for the left.
Political commentator Kyle Becker commented on what the Democrat had to say, writing, “House Rep. Yvette Clarke just said the quiet part out-loud. Democrats are as anti-American as it gets.”
“It is madness that American citizens are footing the bill for foreigners to come here, use our social services, our education services, our infrastructure, and then retire at our expense,” Becker went on. “All because the anti-American Democratic Party wants a few extra seats in Congress. Enough!”
Despite the clip being from 2021, it’s going viral now as it becomes clear that this is KEY part of the Democrats’ playbook heading into the rapidly approaching 2026 midterms.
It’s also a big part of the reason why the Democrats have been openly calling for Americans to “resist” Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts to deport illegals, because they know if illegals are removed, Democrats will lose more seats in Congress.
Not just that, but Democrats in places like New York City, where Rep. Clarke is from, have made numerous attempts to allow illegal aliens to voters in elections.
As a reminder, it’s estimated there are between 15-20 million illegal aliens residing across the country, largely congregating in big, blue cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Houston, etc. If you think those kinds of numbers can’t impact elections, remember that President Trump won by a margin of about 1.5 million votes.
The viral admission by the Democrat about how the party uses illegals led to renewed calls for the SAVE Act, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, which would require individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
Congresswoman Clarke’s candor strips away any remaining pretense about the Democrats’ immigration agenda. If they’re willing to openly admit that illegal migrants are key to securing and expanding their political power, it raises serious questions about what they’re doing quietly behind the scenes. The American people deserve election systems safeguarded from this kind of manipulation—and policies like the SAVE Act are looking less like partisan wish lists and more like urgent necessities.
