We haven’t spent much time examining President-Elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. He’s a military vet and a Fox News host. I’m sure he’ll do fine at the job, so long as he’s in line with President Trump’s peace-through-strength position. He’s already been attacked over some fake sex scandal, so we know the Democrats are worried about him.
I don’t want to talk about Pete specifically, though. I want to talk about the way that Democrats are attacking him because frankly, they’re making my blood boil worse than usual.
Hegseth appeared on the Shawn Ryan podcast on November 11th, just days after the 2024 election. One of the things they specifically talked about was women in the military. Hegseth has the historically correct belief, which most people agree with, that women should not serve in frontline combat roles in the military.
That shouldn’t even be a controversial statement. Men and women are physically and psychologically very different.
Just look at the first Trump assassination attempt in Butler, PA, when they assigned the “ponytail brigade” from the Secret Service to protect him. One of the ladies collapsed on the stage and started moaning with fear as soon as the bullets started flying. You can hear her screaming on the audio, “Where are we going?!” Not all women are going to react that way in a combat situation, but she was a trained Secret Service agent, so…
Anyway, the Democrats have rolled out the biggest DEI hire in the entire US Senate to attack Pete Hegseth for saying women shouldn’t be in combat. Here’s Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) lying about how fierce the girls in the US military are:
"He's just flat-out wrong," Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), a veteran who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, says about defense secretary pick Pete Hegseth's belief that women should not serve in combat roles.

Did she just say that the women meet the same standards as the men to become Navy SEALs? Really?
What does Senator Shorty even mean when she says they don’t have to lower the standards for women to qualify for combat units?
If you applied for OCS in the Marine Corps (when combat roles were only open to men) more than 25 years ago, the standard to qualify was to do up to 20 pull-ups, do 100 crunches in 2 minutes, and run three miles in 21 minutes or less. The standard today for women to lead the same US Marine combat units is a choice between doing 1 pull-up or 15 pushups; completing a 1.5-mile run in 15 minutes, and holding a plank position for 40 seconds.
Those are significantly lower standards that Democrat administrations forced the Marines to adopt, just so women could qualify to lead combat units.
Earlier this year, Sen. Duckworth’s party voted for a bill that would reinstate the draft in the United States—and they included women and girls in it! These people want to draft our daughters into the military so they can send them off to fight World War III for the globalists in places like Ukraine, Iran, and Taiwan.
How about no? How about a firm, HELL NO!
The reason the Democrats have wheeled out Tammy Duckworth to attack Pete Hegseth is because they always play this game with victim diversity Pokémon points. Duckworth is like the walking embodiment… well… she’s like the ROLLING embodiment of why no American should ever want their daughters going into combat.
Duckworth was the co-pilot of a Blackhawk helicopter when it was shot down in Iraq in 2004. (I’m assuming she was the co-pilot because there was a man serving in the actual pilot role.) She lost both her legs during the crash. Yes, I’m mocking a disabled military veteran right now. It’s called free speech.
If the Democrats are going to be this obnoxious in opposing President Trump’s cabinet picks for having sensible policy positions, we should be even more obnoxious in shutting down their arguments. Senator Stumpy doesn’t get to send my daughters off to fight the pointless “forever wars” that Hillary Clinton and Liz Cheney profit from.
Is Pete Hegseth going to be a good Secretary of Defense? Time will tell. But he certainly can’t do a worse job than the leaders who chose to send Tammy Duckworth into a combat zone and got her legs blown off. Our daughters will not follow in Tammy Duckworth’s footsteps. (Get it?! Because she doesn’t have FEET!)
