There are some things so outrageous, so backward, that they make you wonder if common sense has simply vanished from the halls of Congress. The case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia is one of them.
Let’s be clear: Garcia is not some poor refugee seeking a better life. He is a Salvadoran national tied to the brutal MS-13 gang. He has been accused of human trafficking, domestic abuse, and endangering communities across state lines. Yet somehow, some Democrats—yes, elected officials who swore to protect the American people—decided to go to bat for this man. They demanded he be freed and reunited with his family here in the United States. That’s right. Members of Congress like Senator Chris Van Hollen and Representatives Maxwell Frost and Robert Garcia didn’t stand with victims. They stood with a gang member.
That is not just wrong. That is dangerous.
Thankfully, President Trump and his administration are putting the safety of the American people first. And that’s exactly why ICE has once again stepped in to remove this criminal from our country. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem put it plainly: “President Trump is not going to allow this illegal alien, who is an MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser, and child predator, to terrorize American citizens any longer.”
This is what leadership looks like.
Too often, the Left tries to paint every illegal immigrant as a harmless victim. But let’s face the truth. Not everyone who crosses our border is here to plant flowers and wave the American flag. Some are here to break our laws, traffic women and children, and join violent gangs like MS-13 that leave a trail of blood and fear in their path. We have laws for a reason. We have borders for a reason. And we have a Constitution that gives the federal government the duty to protect this nation from threats—both foreign and domestic.
When Democrats fight to protect criminals like Garcia, they are not defending justice. They are betraying the very people they were elected to serve. Every time they demand open borders or refuse to cooperate with ICE, they put American lives at risk. They may claim to care about human rights, but where is their care for the countless victims of human trafficking? Where is their voice for the women beaten or abused by men like Garcia?
Let’s not forget what MS-13 really is. This is a gang known for beheadings, machete killings, and drug trafficking. It is one of the most violent criminal organizations in the Western Hemisphere. And yet, Democrats would rather make political statements than protect our communities from these thugs. That’s not compassion. That’s cowardice.
Thankfully, under President Trump’s leadership, we are seeing a return to law and order. ICE is doing its job. Criminals like Garcia are being arrested and deported. And no matter how loudly the Left screams, they will not stop the wheels of justice.
This is not just about one man. This is about the kind of country we want to live in. Do we want a nation ruled by law, where criminals are punished and families are protected? Or do we want a lawless land where gang members walk free while citizens live in fear?
We the People must choose. And we must speak loudly.
It is time to remind Washington that the Constitution matters. That borders matter. That safety matters. And that no politician—no matter how woke—has the right to endanger the lives of our families just to score political points.
President Trump is doing what the Constitution demands: protecting the people and defending the republic. It’s time for every law-abiding citizen to stand with him and demand that criminals like Kilmar Abrego Garcia never be allowed to call America home. Not today. Not ever.
