From the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, the Democrats and their leftist media puppets have been LYING to us, claiming that Trump’s policies would send inflation “skyrocketing” but a top Trump administration official just exposed what a blatant falsehood that really is!
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent – the Trump admin official primarily tasked with handling the tariff negotiations – sat down with CBS News’ incredibly biased journalist Margaret Brennan.
Brennan is a raging leftist who has made it quite clear over the years that she is NOT a fun of Trump so she used the interview to do exactly what you might expect – smear the president and his policies.
At least, that’s what she TRIED to do… until she ran into an absolute brick wall named Scott Bessent.
During the interview Brennan insisted that Trump’s tariff strategy would result in a reality where there “will either be less inventory or things at higher prices, or both.”
Bessent instantly fired back at her, referencing a previous conversation which they had back in March where the liberal “reporter” claimed that there was going to be big inflation thanks to Trump’s infamous “Liberation Day” tariffs.
“Margaret, when we were here in March, you said there was going to be big inflation. There hasn’t been any inflation,” Bessent said. “Actually, the inflation numbers are the best in four years. So why don’t we stop trying to say this could happen, and wait and see what does happen.”
At another point in the interview, Bessent said that the administration wanted to make sure there are no price increases on the American consumer who was already stretched INCREDIBLY thin thanks to the previous Democrat administration’s economy.
“We wanted to make sure that there aren’t price increases, Margaret. And thus far, there have been no price increases. Everything has been alarmist,” Bessent said, adding that the “inflation numbers are actually dropping.”
Democrats are STILL trying to convince Americans that the sky is falling and it’s “Trump’s fault,” when in reality our economy is actually improving RAPIDLY and life is getting better every day for hardworking American families just trying to make ends meet.
Recently, the Department of Labor released a shockingly impressive bit of data that showed inflation had hit its lowest point, 2.3%, IN FOUR YEARS!
This means that after just a few months in office, Trump has almost completely reversed the damage done to America’s economy by those horrific leftist policies we saw during the Joe Biden presidency.
But Brennan’s job was to make Trump and his administration look as bad as possible, so naturally, she continued attacking.
The left-wing talking head pressed Bessent on retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, and Target supposedly raising prices.
Bessent, meanwhile, fired back by noting that many other popular America companies have handled things in a way that’s more friendly to the consumer, pointing out that “65% of the tariffs” are being “eaten by Chinese producers.”
“Well, a lot of it’s already working its way through the system,” Bessent said. “So we’ve seen a substantial decrease in gasoline and energy prices. So that’s down 20% year over year. We’ve seen the food prices go down, these notorious egg prices. Through the good work of President Trump and [Agriculture] Secretary [Brooke] Rollins, egg prices have collapsed. So we’re seeing more and more.”
Then he dove into the administration’s plan to make sure that prices fall EVERYWHERE.
“What we want to do is even that out across all sections of the economy. So inflation has been very tame. Consumer earnings were up 0.8% last month, which is a gigantic increase for one month. So real earnings minus low inflation is great for the American people, and that’s what we’re seeing.”
Throughout the interview, Bessent was (as he always is) very impressive in his defense of the Trump administration’s fiscal policy and he EASILY dismantled this lying liberal!
