On Monday, Axios published an article citing more than 24 House Democrats who discussed the idea of using “violence” to fight back against President Donald Trump’s policies… and just hours later, a man with a rifle ambushed and shot at Border Patrol agents in Texas.
Hours after these remarks were published, the rhetoric spilled into the real world.
Speaking behind the veil of anonymity, the Democrat lawmakers claimed that their constituents were “displeased” with them over their failure to stop the president from moving forward with his agenda – one that 77 million Americans voted for.
These left-wing politicians claimed that their base was so riled up, they could even resort to “violence.”
“Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough,” one lawmaker said, adding that these people are saying, “there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public.”
Another said that their constituents were done with “civility” because it “isn’t working,” going on to say these Democrat voters have called on lawmakers to prepare for “violence… to fight to protect our democracy.”
And sure enough – that violence came.
An active shooter armed and dressed in full tactical gear opened fire on Border Patrol agents as they arrived at a Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley on Monday.
One officer was hit and is in stable condition, but the only reason this wasn’t a massacre is because of a quick response from the agents and local law enforcement onsite who neutralized the shooter.
But for Democrats to sit here and pretend like it’s JUST their constituents who have been calling for violence is downright insulting to the intelligence of the average American who has been FORCED to listen to them shout about how “Trump is Hitler” for nearly 10 years now.
Far-left activists and some Democrat lawmakers have increasingly normalized violent rhetoric—then act shocked when it manifests in real-world attacks.
And while they’ve been doing this for quite some time now, the rhetoric coming out of their mouths so far in Trump’s second term has been completely insane.
You would think that if politicians are able to recognize the bloodthirst they’ve instilled in their voters, then they would also recognize that maybe they should ease up on this kind of rhetoric.
One of the anonymous Democrats used the analogy with Axios: “It’s like … the Roman coliseum. People just want more and more of this spectacle.”
Evidently, these politicians see THAT as an opportunity for them. They’re ALL IN on the “spectacle” – consequences be damned.
In recent months, Governor Gavin Newsom, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Pramila Jayapal and other Democrats have been shouting anti-ICE messaging from the rooftops, demonizing federal law enforcement officials, threatening to dox them, sabotaging their raids, and even flat-out physically assaulting them.
All of this is part of their desperate performative theater as they fan the flames of violence and play their own supporters like suckers.
Meanwhile, Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan is FURIOUS with the Democrats who have been doing this, and he’s calling them out.

“The rhetoric against the men and women of ICE is skyrocketing, especially by members of Congress,” Homan said. “We have senators, we have Congress people that compare ICE to the Nazis, compare ICE to racists, and it just continues.”
Homan continued with a warning that Democrats will probably ignore:
“The public thinks well if a member of Congress can attack ICE, why can’t we? The rhetoric has to stop or it’s just a matter of time before an ICE officer goes down.”
