House Freezes Planned Parenthood Federal Funding

Yesterday, the House passed a measure to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood.  The vote was virtually split across party lines with only a handful of democrats voting for the Bill and a few republicans voting against.

Though all of this may be for nothing as the White House has promised to veto the bill.

While Planned Parenthood has always been a hot button issue, the scrutiny has heated up in recent weeks after the release of videos.  They show workers for Planned Parenthood engaged in the selling of fetal body parts.

These videos are truly sickening and I would not encourage you to view them.  Unless, you want to be angered, outraged, and disgusted.

Planned Parenthood gets nearly $450 million annually in Federal payments.  Hopefully, this will go through so we can at the very least investigate this matter further.  I’m not holding my breath.

Here are some quotes regarding the vote:

“In the face of these videos, with all the alternatives women have for health, why would you want to force your constituents to pay for something so evil?” – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

“Some of their members are willing to risk women’s lives just to score political points,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.

My Comment:  Really Ms. Schultz!?  What about the lives of the unborn?  I guess since they can’t vote those lives don’t matter.

We’ll see how this all plays out.  I’m not overly encouraged.

The mailbag these past few days has been overflowing with comments.  We appreciate all the love and hate so keep them coming.

Here are a few…

On the mailbag comment from gentleman who threatened to leave the Republican party if Trump won the nomination:

“Hey let that guy leave the country or start a new party.  It’s a free country but remember what Ross Perot did with his 3rd party=gave everything to Liberal progressive idiots who have trashed the country=they what everyone to be economically equal=what a disaster in the making=spreading the wealth to not only here but to the whole 3rd world!”

-Willard

“I’m sure this will have droves of people leaving their 2cents behind! ABT (Anyone But Trump), all of them are well qualified and bring different things to the table, it really should be ABH!” (Anyone But Hillary)

-Lisa

Here are some general comments on Trump both positive and negative:

I never took Trump seriously at first.  But the more he talked the better I liked him.  He doesn’t have to be afraid to say what WE think because no one is buying him.  If that’s what it takes to get a Republican in the White House, then so be it.  He’s got my vote.

Wendy

Trumps nothing but a showman.  Ringling Bros. should hire Donald as lead clown!

-Norman

Trump will not be my favorite Republican Candidate so far, BUT He calls it like it is and spares no verbiage doing so. He is a proven Leader in his Arena, BUT, Is He really serious.  Kinda feel. He is just having a great time putting down non serious Contenders.

Florio

Trump and Carson are strong leaders, and I am in favor of either. Trump just needs a bit of polishing in the subject of politics. I will be happy with either as president. I think we need a new and fresh mentality in regards to all the problems that are ailing this wonderful nation. Hope God will open people’s eyes, and makes them realized the way things are going and have been going on for the past 7 years, is driving this great nation to bankruptcy and turmoil.

-Maria

I like what trump has to say, and he seems to stand firm on it!!!! Why would people be so ignorant as to switch to the democrats???? When it comes right down to it, i will back whomever republican gets in! Personally, i like trump, ben carson, and ted cruz!!!! Any one of them would make a fine president, and i believe would get this country going back in the right direction again!!!!!!

-Randall

I never gave any endorsement to Trump. If he is the nominee for president I would have to write in Obama’s name because they are the same dictatorial ruling types, one from the extreme left and one from the extreme right.  they settle problems and find solutions through bully power.  Isn’t it time we had a powerful leader that did not abuse his/her power???    Please take my email off of your mailing list.   thank you.

-Ronald

And of course there was also the hate mail…

I think all of you Republicans are very sick, bigoted people. Please do not send me anything from your party again.

-Jamie

My Comment: This by far the most common, ridiculous, and untrue argument against Republicans.  By definition the term bigot is a person who is intolerant of those holding other opinions.

So by definition Jamie, you are a bigot.  When I look at my friends they are comprised of many different religions, races, gender, and even sexual orientation.  I may not agree with everyone on all matters, but I love all people.  Most republicans I know are the same way.  I don’t see Republicans supporting attacks on police officers and white people like many liberal groups have.
