Democrats staged a major insurrection a week ago at an ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey. It was bad. Three Democrat Members of Congress assaulted local, state, and federal law enforcement agents while trying to rescue their MS-13 boyfriends from prison.
You’d think that punching cops would be a sort of red line for members of the House of Representatives. But not on Speaker Mike Johnson’s watch!
Speaker Johnson has announced that he thinks “censure” is the most appropriate action to deal with the three Democrats who assaulted police officers and federal agents in an attempted prison break.
Those Democrats, by the way, were Reps. LaMonica McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez.
In videos of the insurrection, you can clearly see McIver throwing elbows and punches at federal officers in a much worse attack than any officer faced on January 6th. She’s the big ol’ hoss in the red jacket here:

She’s literally “throwing her weight around”—amiright?
Mike Johnson doesn’t think that’s worthy of expulsion from Congress. To realize how shocking that is, let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember what Republicans did to one of their own a little over a year ago.
Yes, we’re talking about the man, the myth, the legend—George Santos!
George first ran for Congress in New York in 2020. Unfortunately for America, the Democrats stole that election. George lost due to many shenanigans that the Democrats also used to steal the presidential election that year.
George didn’t give up, though. He put on his thinking cap and used his can-do, plucky spirit to win the 2022 election. He won by using a brilliant plan that the Democrats always do.
He lied his butt off and pandered to every minority and fringe group in New York to peel off enough moderate votes to win!
In some of his stump speeches, George Santos claimed to be of Hispanic heritage. The next day, he might be black. Or Jewish. Or Indian. During some speeches, he was gay. During others, he’d have some lady pose as his girlfriend. He even pretended to be transgender during one speech.
The chameleonic performance depended on what audience he was in front of. And by golly, it worked!
Now, if you’re offended by George’s tactics, ask yourself why?
It’s the same tactic that all other politicians use all the time. Remember Joe Biden on the campaign trail in 2020? One day he’d claim he used to be a long-haul trucker, the next day he’d claim that he was a college professor, and the next day he’d pine for those long-ago days when he used to force little black kids to touch him in the pool.
“I got real hairy legs!”
Who could forget Hillary Clinton’s cringeworthy, fake Southern accent when she’d pander to black churches?
“Ah ain’t feeeel no ways taaaahhhred!”
The Republicans do the same thing to us all the time. When they’re on the campaign trail, they’re all like, “Look at me! I’m Mister MAGA!” But then when they’re in Congress, they just go right back to screwin’ us over.
Republicans and Democrats were offended by George Santos’s antics because he was giving away the game. George was honest about the scam and embarrassed the rest of them because he made them look like fools.
He’d give a speech claiming that he was transgender and then immediately after it was over, he’d give an interview to a reporter saying, “Yeah, I’m not really trans.” He knew that the people who watched the speech wouldn’t bother to watch the news.
For being such a LEGEND, George Santos was expelled from Congress on December 1, 2023. The vote was 311 to 114, with 112 Republicans voting to knife one of their own in the back.
George Santos was expelled from Congress for “lying”—even though he was always honest when he was lying. I don’t know if this needs to be said, but… lying is kind of a thing politicians are known for.
Just so everyone understands the rules, Republicans in Congress will wield their power to throw the most pro-Trump members of their caucus out. But they won’t do the same thing to Democrats who punch police officers.
