Last Friday, the Washington Post very quietly published a small piece noting that Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was not going to be charged by the Justice Department for child sex trafficking. There wasn’t much fanfare to it. The rest of the media didn’t even bother to mention the story. And that’s odd. It seems like it was only 18 months ago that Matt Gaetz was branded a child predator and a sex trafficker in an anonymously sourced hit piece in the New York Times, and then the Washington Post and the entire rest of the mainstream media. You’d think after destroying Gaetz’s reputation and viciously smearing him that they’d run a correction on that story today. But they’re not, because smearing Gaetz was the whole point all along.
When the Gaetz “allegation” first surfaced, it was as if the FBI were poking all the QAnon folks right in the eye. While many QAnon followers like to point out that there are an awful lot of pedophiles running the world and Donald Trump was putting a lot of them in jail, the FBI turned around and smeared one of Trump’s staunchest supporters – Gaetz – as a child sex trafficker. (It’s always projection with these people, isn’t it?)
Matt Gaetz was one of the biggest and most articulate MAGA Republicans in Congress. And what makes him so dangerous to the establishment is that Matt Gaetz is really, really good at politics.
When Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) started holding secret impeachment hearings in the basement of the US Capitol, it was Gaetz who organized Republican lawmakers to fight it. Gaetz led a group of GOP congressman down the stairs in front of live TV cameras and held a press conference right in front Schiff’s secret room in the basement. It was electric, it immediately went viral, and the move unified the GOP to fight off the Ukraine phone call impeachment.
When Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) started mouthing off about “insurrection” on January 6, Matt Gaetz flew to Wyoming and held a rally against her. And she was still a leader in the House Republican conference at the time; Cheney was #3 in command of the party after Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise.
“You can help me break a corrupt system,” Gaetz told a crowd in Wyoming, just three weeks after January 6. “You can send a representative who actually represents you, and you can send Liz Cheney home — back home to Washington, D.C.”
That started the ball rolling, and eventually, Cheney was ousted from her leadership post in the House GOP, the Republican Party of Wyoming denounced her and kicked her out of the party, and Harriet Hageman crushed Cheney in a humiliating 40-point primary defeat. Matt Gaetz did that. That is how good he is at politics.
Gaetz was averaging 87 minutes per month on television news programs at the start of 2021. He was the most articulate and sharpest MAGA voice in Congress. TV news hosts wanted Gaetz on, because he’s an entertaining guest, and he’s funny and sharp. And that all changed in March of 2021.
That’s when the FBI falsely smeared Gaetz. Anonymous leaks at the Department of Justice told the New York Times that Gaetz had trafficked an underage girl across state lines for sex. It was a horrifying and devastating announcement. Gaetz was suddenly anathema in Washington, DC. Nobody wanted to talk to him on TV anymore. Very few Members of Congress were brave enough to keep working with him, other than the other core MAGA group.
The media and the rest of Donald Trump’s enemies in Congress just couldn’t shut up about the story. The smearing was relentless. Saturday Night Live did multiple skits about it. The AP tried to link Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to the story. The Democrat-led House Ethics Committee launched an investigation into Matt Gaetz’s love life. Mike Pence’s former chief of staff announced on CNN that Gaetz would not be running for reelection in 2024, because Gaetz would “likely be in prison for child trafficking.”
It was all a lie. And now even the Justice Department has said so. Career prosecutors recommended no charges for Gaetz on Friday. Not a single witness ever corroborated the BS story about child trafficking. Because it never happened. But that’s not the point. Matt Gaetz was sidelined and association with him became political poison. And that was the whole point.
Things are about to change, fortunately. Matt Gaetz is still standing. He’s been exonerated completely. Republicans are about to take control of the House again. And as mentioned earlier, Matt Gaetz is very, very good at politics. This should be fun to watch.
Just like the false claim last year that horse mounted Border Patrol agents were whipping illegals at the border. Now, over a year later, all charges and allegations were dropped, but did this exoneration get any media coverage? Did the Idiot-in-Chief, Biden, or the administration, offer an apology? (crickets)
I hope Matt Gaetz moves up the GOP ladder and becomes instrumental in turning this country around.
The FBI is truly a communist organization. Anyone associated with them are anti American.

Keep in mind, the DOJ is looking at investigating, and throwing their weight around on this issue. Sounds very similar to the pro Life activist, Houck, which I cannot remember his first name. He was protecting his son last year at a Pro Life rally from an activist that started getting in his son’s face and threatening him, Houck shoved the activist who fell. The court ruled nothing to see here, and nothing was done. Then, almost a year later in comes our AG, Merrick Garland, and his FBI/Stasi raid on this man’s home, arrests him, and wants federal charges against this man protecting his son.
May Matt seize this opportunity, and make the absolute most of it!

What I do not understand is why the people that have been smeared by these false claims do not sue the offending parties for slander and liable. It would seem to me that they would have a very strong case.
