Melania Speaks Out on How Nasty the Obamas Were During the 2017 Transition

WARSAW, POLAND - JUNE 6, 2017: Donald Trump, Melania Trump with visit in Poland

It feels like we’re just moments away from Donald and Melania Trump returning to the White House. Will the Bidens greet them differently than the resentful trailer-trash Obamas did back in 2017? We’ll find out on Monday. For now, America’s favorite First Lady of all time is finally dishing on what a nasty pair Barack and Michelle Obama were on January 20, 2017.

That shouldn’t surprise us. We’ve always known how awful the Obamas were. The surprising thing is how Melania is able to take a swipe at the Obamas and still come across as so classy.

Melania sat down this week for an interview with Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt. One of the things they spoke about was the upcoming transition of power on inauguration day, January 20th. Here’s what the best First Lady of all time said:

“The first time was challenging; we didn’t have much information. The information was upheld [sic] from us by the previous administration. But this time I have everything… it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”

The elegant Melania, who speaks five languages, obviously meant to use the word “withheld” instead of “upheld.” During the transition from one administration to the next, everything has to be completed within a five-hour window. Much of this is organized by the wives. The outgoing First Lady has to get her crap out of the White House so the incoming First Lady can bring in her choice of furniture and other stuff.

The Obamas snubbed Donald and Melania Trump in 2017 and refused to answer questions that would have made that important day much easier for them. Color me unsurprised. Barack and Michelle Obama have always been petty, nasty, vindictive, racist jerks. They had expected to continue running the country into the ground for another four years when Donald Trump upset their apple cart by crushing Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

Barack and Michelle Obama are simply terrible people. When the Obamas awkwardly greeted the Trumps at the White House back in 2017, the always classy Melania presented Michelle with a gift. The gift was an incredible photo frame in a blue Tiffany box. The hulking Michelle fumbled and nearly dropped it on the ground. She then handed it to Barack who passed it on to an aide.

Michelle didn’t get nothin’ for Melania. No gift.

That didn’t surprise me in the least. The low-class Obamas have never been great at the whole exchange-of-gifts thing, because they’re selfish and unthinking.

My last year at ABC News was Barack Obama’s first year in the White House, back in 2009. My former boss and I were chatting when the news of the gift exchange between Barack Obama and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown broke.

Brown had sent Barack Obama a wooden pen holder made from a piece of the HMS Gannet, a 19th-century British anti-slavery ship. Setting aside whatever you think of Barack Obama (and I don’t think much of him), that was an incredibly thoughtful gift. America had just elected the first black president in our history. That pen holder signified not only the 19th-century struggles against slavery in the US and Great Britain but also the strong diplomatic ties between our two nations.

What gift did the Obamas send to Gordon Brown in return?

A boxed set of Star Wars DVDs.

“I bet nobody in England has seen these babies! They’ve got light sabers in ‘em!”

Gordon Brown had just engaged in an amazing act of diplomatic warmth and grace. The Obamas had treated him like they had picked the ugly gal’s name in an office Secret Santa exchange.

My former boss: “These people are trash.”

Me: “It’s gonna be a long four years.”

We have a sneaking suspicion that the transition is going to go much more smoothly between administrations this time. Especially since we know that Joe and Jill Biden both voted for Donald Trump after Kamala Harris and the Obamas stabbed them in the back.

Michelle Obama has snottily announced that she won’t be attending the inauguration. She won’t be missed.
