Well, well, well — Robert Mueller is off the hook. Again. After years of dodging accountability behind the curtain of the Deep State, the man behind the most politically charged investigation in modern American history won’t have to answer questions about what he knew and when he knew it — at least not under oath.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which has been on a much-needed tear lately, yanked its subpoena for Mueller this week. Why? Because Mueller’s family says he’s too ill to testify. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021, Mueller has officially bowed out of public life. According to his family, he retired from law and teaching back in 2022. Now, they’re asking for privacy.
Now don’t get me wrong — Parkinson’s is a serious illness, and no one’s cheering for someone’s health to decline. But let’s not pretend this doesn’t come at a very convenient time for the Washington establishment.
Let’s rewind the tape. Mueller wasn’t just any bureaucrat. He was the face of the Russia collusion hoax — a two-year media circus that tried to paint President Trump as a Kremlin puppet. That investigation cost taxpayers over $30 million and turned out to be nothing more than a political hit job with no hard evidence. And now, when it’s time to revisit the role he may have played during the FBI’s early investigations into Jeffrey Epstein — another scandal the elites would love for you to forget — we’re told he can’t make it.
Sure. Just a coincidence, right?
What Chairman James Comer and the committee wanted was simple: some answers. Mueller was FBI Director while Epstein was being investigated. That means he likely had access to files, reports, and decisions that could shed light on why a man accused of trafficking underage girls to the rich and powerful kept slipping through the cracks. Why was Epstein allowed to roam free for years? Why did federal authorities give him a sweetheart deal in Florida back in 2008? And why did it take until 2019 to lock him up—only for him to conveniently die in jail under circumstances that would make a Hollywood screenwriter blush?
Mueller could have helped answer some of those questions. That hearing was scheduled for September 2. But now, just days before he was set to testify, the subpoena gets pulled. The timing couldn’t be more perfect if it were scripted by Netflix.
Let’s not forget that people have suspected Mueller wasn’t exactly firing on all cylinders for some time. Remember that shaky, confused Mueller who testified in 2019 about his own report? Even liberal outlets like The New York Times admitted his performance was “halting” and his voice was “tremulous.” Bill Barr noted in his memoir that Mueller’s hands were trembling during a key meeting. That was four years ago. And yet, the man was still being treated as a credible figurehead for a politically motivated witch hunt.
Now, as the GOP-controlled House digs into the Epstein cover-up, suddenly Mueller’s health becomes a shield. It’s the same old playbook we’ve seen from Democrats and their bureaucratic allies for years: stall, stonewall, and when all else fails, hide behind a doctor’s note.
Of course, the media isn’t raising any eyebrows. If this were a Republican skipping out on testifying, CNN would have a live countdown clock and MSNBC would be holding nightly vigils. But since it’s Mueller — the patron saint of the anti-Trump resistance — we’re told to move along. Nothing to see here.
The truth is, the American people deserve answers. Not just about Epstein, but about how our institutions have been hijacked by political operatives in suits and ties. Whether it’s the FBI, the DOJ, or the so-called “independent” investigators like Mueller, we’ve seen a pattern: protect the powerful, punish the outsiders, and bury the truth.
Mueller may never testify now. And maybe we won’t get the answers we’re looking for from him. But the House Oversight Committee isn’t done. Not by a long shot. The Epstein investigation is just getting warmed up, and the American people — especially the victims — deserve to know who helped cover for a monster.
If the elites think they can use illness, retirement, or media silence to run out the clock, they better think again. Because this time, there’s no hiding behind the curtain. Not with the America First crowd in charge. Not anymore.
