An astonishing report was just released in the Minneapolis City Journal. It outlines the staggering welfare fraud operations being run by Somali migrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, to the tune of billions of taxpayer dollars every year. The money is then funneled through shell companies to the terror group Al Shabaab back in their home country of Somalia, through remittances. When President Donald Trump read the report, he immediately tweeted that he was revoking Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for all Somali migrants in Minnesota. But… there’s a catch. And you’re not going to like it.
Somali migrants may come across like Stone Age barbarians who haven’t discovered fire or the wheel yet, but it turns out that they’re geniuses at ripping off the American taxpayers. The report in the City Journal really is jaw-dropping.
Just one example of the fraud perpetrated by the Somalis in Minnesota was the Feeding Our Future program. A group of Somali migrants set it up in 2016 as a small non-profit. It was intended to help daycares and after-school programs enroll in the Federal Child Nutrition Program. Governor “Tampon Tim” Walz helped it expand in 2019. It received $3.4 million in federal tax dollars that year.
In 2021, Joe Biden and our mentally retarded Congress sent the program $200 million. None of the money was used to feed hungry children in Minnesota. Instead, the six Somalis running the program were buying luxury cars and real estate in the United States, Turkey, and Kenya. They also sent boatloads of cash back to Somalia.
Another example is Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services, administered by Minnesota’s Health and Human Services. That program started in 2020. It was intended to help senior citizens, addicts, the homeless, and mentally disabled people find housing in Minneapolis. It received $2.6 million during its first year of operation.
But as soon as the Somali community smelled cash, programs started popping up all over the city, often using dilapidated storefronts and abandoned buildings as their “headquarters.” In 2021, the program received $21 million. In 2022, it shot up to $42 million. In 2023, it raked in $74 million. And in Joe Biden’s last year in office, it received a whopping $104 million.
Not one dime of that money went to help the homeless or low-income senior citizens. It was all a rip-off.
In 2018, Medicaid started covering services for autistic children in Minnesota. That year, 41 autism centers received $3 million to provide services. Once again, the Somalis smelled cash and discovered that, lo and behold, their children actually had 300% more autism than American children! What coincidence!
By 2019, autism claims to Medicaid had topped $54 million. Every Somali quickly learned that Somali doctors would give them a fake autism diagnosis for their child for a kickback. Immediately after the Medicaid money started flowing, the original 41 autism services organizations (which were real), had grown to 328. The 287 new autism centers were all fake—and all Somali-run.
Parents who agreed to get an autism diagnosis for their kids were given kickbacks from the fake services, ranging from $300 to $1,500 per child, per month. Someone with the State of Minnesota pointed out that Somalis don’t vaccinate their kids (they’re all Muslims), so it was strange that they have 300% higher autism rates than Americans, Somali lawyers immediately sued the state for racial discrimination. Just for asking the question!
President Trump blew his top when he read the report and announced that he’s revoking TPS for every Somali in Minnesota. Unfortunately, the president must not have realized that Somalis are also experts at dodging our immigration laws. While they all came here with a TPS designation under previous presidents, the vast majority have moved out of TPS due to marriage fraud and other green card scams. (See also: Omar, Ilhan.)
Out of the estimated 80,000 Somali scammers that everyone from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama dumped in the middle of Minneapolis, only 705 of them are still under Temporary Protected Status. To kick the rest of these people who are willing to steal bread from the mouths of needy American children, it’s going to a much stronger effort, including revoking their fake citizenship.
