One of the blessings of the COVID pandemic was that it showed everyone just how rotten and corrupt many of our institutions are. Colleges and public schools in particular were horrifyingly evil to the students they pretend to care about. The mask is off now and parents are pushing back. An incredible case has emerged in the deep red state of West Virginia, of all places. The state’s Department of Education has now ordered public schools to vaccinate all children—by force—and without parental consent.
How did West Virginia of all places get here?
West Virginia used to be a bit of a swing state that mostly leaned to the left. The state finally turned sharply right in 2000, and it’s been a red state in every presidential election since then. Because West Virginia had a communist/Democrat legislature for so many years, it has one of the most draconian childhood vaccination laws on the books.
Under West Virginia Code §16-3-4, kids entering public or private schools and state-regulated childcare centers must be immunized against a laundry list of diseases they’ll never likely encounter in their lifetimes. They even force parents to vaccinate their preschoolers for weird sex diseases that are typically only spread by through adult sexual contact or in high-risk environments.
Talk about a vote of confidence for your child’s future!
The law only allows medical exemptions from vaccines, which must be certified by a licensed physician and approved by the state’s Immunization Officer. There’s no religious exemption allowed under the state law. All that parents can do if they object is jump through a bunch of mother-may-I’s with the government. Even if a doctor says there’s a medical reason to exempt a child from the vaccines, a state bureaucrat can override that decision.
It’s demonic.
Millions of parents reject mandatory vaccines because they believe it’s their right—not the government’s—to decide what goes into their children’s bodies. They worry about serious side effects, long-term health risks that haven’t been fully studied, and the explosion of required shots for illnesses that pose little to no threat to healthy kids. The only option that these parents used to have in West Virginia was to homeschool their kids and pray that the state government never came knocking on their door.
Anyway, after all the nonsense that happened during the pandemic and with Joe Biden’s illegal jab mandates, parents are finally starting to wake up to the dangers of vaccines. I mean, my God, the courts had to force Pfizer and the government to reveal that women who got the covid vaccine early on in their pregnancy experience a 43% higher risk of miscarriage. AND that they knew this as early as 2021, but refused to tell the public about it!
More parents want to opt-out, but West Virginia Code §16-3-4 is still in effect.
On his first day in office back in January, incoming Republican Governor Patrick Morrissey signed an executive order. That order allows parents to declare a religious exemption to any or all of the vaccines required under the draconian law. They don’t need a note from a doctor or approval from some commie state bureaucrat. Just a simple note declaring “I religiously object to all vaccines,” and they’re all set.
Gov. Morrissey’s executive order is completely in line with the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) and West Virginia’s Equal Protection for Religion Act of 2023. But the order has enraged the liberals working in state agencies. How DARE parents think they know what’s best for their children?
The West Virginia Board of Education voted unanimously to ignore Governor Morrissey’s executive order. Instead, the Board has ordered all schools to forcibly commit medical battery against children, by vaccinating them over parental objections. Superintendent Michelle Blatt has told schools that if they don’t violate Morrissey’s executive order (and federal law under the RFRA), children will be denied access to education starting in the fall of 2025.
The legislature tried to pass a new law earlier this year, which would have allowed non-medical exemptions from childhood vaccines. But they failed to get the law passed, so now the Board of Education is fighting the governor and the will of parents.
Fights like this are actually a good thing. The Board of Education is going to lose this fight eventually. Courts have been explicit that religious freedom is not something that any state bureaucrat can trample on just because they want to flex their communist bona fides. But in the meantime, it alerts parents to the authoritarian nature of government-run education systems. This will get the school board parents mobilized!
