In a baffling display of stupidity, rightwing publications across the internet are praising Texas Gov. Greg Abbott today for ending the COVID lockdowns and mask mandates in his state. When Republican leaders display moral cowardice and act just like Democrats, shouldn’t we be calling them out on it? Some are even talking about Greg Abbott now being a contender for the 2024 Republican nomination for president if Trump doesn’t run for reelection. I’d say, “When hell freezes over,” but that might trigger all of the Green New Deal experts who are running the Texas power grid these days.
Back when COVID first hit America’s shores, tons of people got scared. We’d been seeing the fake videos out of China for weeks at that point, and we thought COVID was a serious disease that could kill even relatively young, healthy people. Remember all those videos of Chinese people in their 20s collapsing in the streets in Wuhan? Yeah, those were obviously all fake. We know that now, because the number of people under the age of 50 that are actually dying from COVID is statistically near zero. China faked us out and then a bunch of terrible governors – Democrats and Republicans – did the rest of the dirty work for China.
Out of an abundance of caution and fear, “we the people” consented to a plan that I thought was crazy at the time. I even wrote that it was crazy at the time. The plan was called “10 Days to Flatten the Curve.” Remember that? You should remember it, since we’re coming up on the one-year anniversary of it. A lot of states are still under mask mandates and business shutdowns, because “10 Days” for those governors was actually “Forever and Ever Because I Am a Psychopath.”
We trusted the people in charge of our states with that insane 10-day shutdown. We never consented to continued lockdowns that would destroy thousands of small businesses, cause a huge spike in 10-year-old suicides and drive fentanyl overdose rates through the roof. We did not consent to this misery in Republican- or Democrat-controlled states. They did it to us anyway and they’re still doing it to us in a lot of states.
Greg Abbott had access to the exact same science that Gov. Kristi Noem in South Dakota and Vice President Ron DeSan—whoops. Got ahead of myself a little bit there. I meant to say Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida.
But Abbott put his state through the same rollercoaster as the Nursing Home Killer governor of New York, Governor Crazy-Eyes in Michigan, and Governor Nancy Pelosi’s Nephew in California. Now Abbott is finally – a freaking year later – restoring rights to his citizens that he never had authority to take away in the first place. Whoopee.

Government has no authority to frivolously shut down small businesses – even in a “public health emergency.” The Supreme Court has always consistently ruled that under the Privileges or Immunities clause of the 14th Amendment (yeah, one of the anti-slavery amendments), government cannot prevent someone from pursuing the trade of their choice (so long as that “trade” is not a government job or something illegal). To do so is to violate a man or woman’s right to that whole “pursuit of happiness” thing in the Declaration of Independence.
In other words, the Supreme Court has ruled multiple times over the years that government shutting down your small business is absolutely no different than denying employment to a black person because of their skin color. And these governors did it anyway. I’m surprised that no enterprising attorney has had the guts to sue their state government for a 14th Amendment violation yet over these lockdowns.
I’m also surprised that so many people have gone along with it. And I’ve said this before in the past year: God bless all of the black-market entrepreneurs who have continued your pursuit of happiness in the face of these tyrants. You’re on the right side of history and the law on this one.
As for Texas Governor Greg Abbott, I refuse to praise the guy. 50 weeks to flatten the curve! No. No thanks. He belongs on the same list as Andrew Cuomo and Gretchen Whitmer as far as I’m concerned.

Governor Ivey lifted some yesterday and said the mask mandate will end after Easter. Admire Texas and Mississippi for opening back up. If the governor of Texas was worth his salt he would not have put Texans through what many other governors put their states through…pure, living HELL! He would have had the courage to stand up to government and say, Hell No! Texas will not lock down or wear masks and do all of the other ridiculous things that most states have done. The governors and states who bucked the system and risked the ire of big government were listed and there was only a couple. It’s great that Greg Abbot finally stated that enough was enough but it took him a year to do it. I think most people here misunderstood the meaning of the article. I think he was simply stating that Texas should have never been locked down in the first place for a fake virus. When the Trump virus was mentioned, I took it to mean that the Democrats started it to attempt to destroy Trump. There are also comments on here that mention that we are saved because of the vaccine. No vaccine has ever saved anyone from a virus, the vaccines weren’t created to save anyone. They are created to keep the virus going. 60% of the people that get the seasonal flu vaccine, get the flu then spread it to others. The vaccine itself has live flu virus in it. That’s how they keep the flu going. If you’ll notice, you never hear about flu cases until the vaccine is offered. If it wasn’t for the vaccine, we would already have herd immunity from the flu. It will be the same with the new vaccine. If you’re wise, you’ll never take it under any condition. It’s time for people to wake up and quit being sheep! If you really think 500,000 people died from the virus check the 2020 statistics. The death rate for 2020 per 100,000 is the same as any other previous year. It’s all a hoax!

Basically, he found that gargling with a solution of Beta-dine, Listerine, a few other things I don’t recall, or even plain water (given enough time) would effectively reduce the viral load down to negligible. The Beta-dine was fastest acting, followed closely by Listerine: the water took nearly twelve times longer.

Does not Science agree that pursuit of failed experiments is a waste of time and effort? Or are we only to look at ‘medical science’ as opposed to the Scientific Method? As new testing for COVID-19 antigens has introduced new questions regarding the prior testing method and false positives, it may be that the Science used for previous tests was not adequately scrutinized for accuracy.

I live in Texas. We’ve been able to go to restaurants and get haircuts for a while. They’ve been at 50%. Yes, there was a mask mandate, but not for outdoors. Now we are fully open. Most Democrat states have only opened restaurants at 25%! Govenor Abbott hasn’t been as draconian as Newsome, Whitmore, Wolf and Cuomo.
All he did was give us back the right to decide if we want to ware masks or not. We have to get back to living.

If we accept the hugely inflated number of COVID deaths, we use the figure of 500,000. The US population is 300,000,000. To find out the percentage of the population that has died from COVID, we divide the 500,000 by 330,000,000. The answer is 0.0015. To express this as a percentage, move the decimal place two spaces to the right. That’s 0.15%. Not even two tenths of one percent.to express this in a different way, subtract the 0.15% from 100%. Your answer is 99.85%. That means that 99.85% of the population did NOT DIE from COVID or were never infected with the virus.
All due respect and sorrow tho those who lost loved ones, but THIS is not a pandemic. In 1918-19, the Spanish Flu killed 10% of the population-that’s one in ten people. In Europe in the Middle Ages, the Black Plague killed 33% of the population, one in every three people. THOSE were pandemics. This is a manufactured crisis to make us more malleable. SCIENCE AND MATH.
