Nancy Pelosi — the woman who served as Speaker of the House through January 2023, who stood behind the President of the United States at every State of the Union, who ran one of the most tightly controlled leadership operations in modern congressional history — now wants you to know she barely had any contact with the leader of her party, President Joe Biden. Her words: "I saw him maybe 3 times that whole year…so I didn't know."
Pelosi dropped this gem while doing what every senior Democrat has been doing since Biden shuffled off the political stage: rewriting history at full speed. Pelosi didn't stop at that absurd claim she added this: "But I do think those who did know should have acted upon that information."
It's honestly appalling Pelosi claims she didn't know and is shifting the blame onto Biden's aides, who she insists are truly the evil ones because they didn't inform the public. She's simultaneously claiming ignorance and assigning blame to unnamed others. That's not a defense. That's a carefully constructed exit ramp designed by someone who's been in Washington since the Reagan administration.
Senator Ted Cruz had the appropriate two-word response on X: "Everyone knew."
He's right, of course. We all watched it. Biden wandered toward a cliff edge in Normandy until another world leader physically redirected him. He disappeared into the Amazon jungle in Brazil during an international trip. He froze at podiums, whispered into microphones at random intervals, and confused world leaders with dead people. The 2024 debate didn't reveal anything new — it just made it impossible for the press to keep running interference.
And Pelosi — who controlled the House floor, who whipped votes with surgical precision, who orchestrated two impeachments — didn't notice any of this because she only saw him three times.
The real question isn't whether Pelosi knew. Every Democrat in leadership knew. Barack Obama knew. Chuck Schumer knew. Jill Biden and Hunter Biden certainly knew. The entire Democratic leadership apparatus spent 2023 and most of 2024 assuring the American public that Joe Biden was sharp, focused, and fully in command. They did this while reportedly limiting his public appearances, scheduling lids before noon, and keeping him away from unscripted interactions. Then the debate happened, the facade collapsed in 90 minutes of live television, and suddenly everyone in the building claims they were the last to find out.
Pelosi was Speaker until January 2023. She remained one of the most powerful figures in the Democratic caucus after that. The idea that she had less access to the president than a C-SPAN viewer is an insult to everyone who watched this unfold in real time.
But this is how it works. The party that told you the border was secure, the economy was booming, and inflation was transitory is now telling you the woman who ran the House didn't have basic situational awareness about the man in the Oval Office.
