Remember when former Congressman George Santos (R-NY) was accused of using campaign funds for Botox treatments? Democrats and Republicans pounced. They stripped him of all committee assignments and booted him out of Congress completely before his trial had even started. The hypocrites issued butthurt moans about how the sanctity of the office had been desecrated. Yet right now, three sitting Democrats are facing federal felony charges that are far more serious than anything George Santos ever did. No one is trying to kick them out of office!
Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) was indicted in 2022 on charges of taking bribes from an oil company in Azerbaijan. He’s been reelected twice since he was charged! It seems like the wheels of justice turned a lot faster when George Santos was accused of misappropriating $600 for Botox.
Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was charged in May with three counts of assaulting, resisting, impeding, and interfering with federal officers. She was last seen hurling her big, hammy fists at federal agents and cops while she was committing insurrection at an ICE facility. Again, seems a bit worse than George Santos spending a few bucks on beauty treatments.
Just this week, Rep. Sheila Cherfilus‑McCormick (D-FL) was indicted on charges of fraud, money laundering, straw donor schemes, and false federal tax returns. She’s accused of ripping off $5 million in FEMA funds in 2021.
Before anyone accuses President Donald Trump of “weaponizing the Justice Department” against his political enemies, go back and look at the date of Rep. Cuellar’s indictment. He was charged by the unelected Biden regime, and it only happened after Cuellar started speaking out against Joe Biden’s open border policies.
Cuellar represents District 28 in Texas, which includes 200 miles of the US-Mexico border. The border communities in his district were devastated by Biden’s policies. Cuellar started speaking out for his constituents. He blasted Biden for ending President Trump’s Title 42 rule, which had been used to quickly expel illegal aliens under pandemic rules.
Cuellar accused Biden of ignoring the Americans living in border communities. These communities were being devastated by the thousands of cat-eating barbarians that Biden was letting into the country every day. We’re not sure if this is true, but Cuellar also said that he gave Texas Gov. Greg Abbott the idea to deploy floating buoy barriers in the Rio Grande River.
The next thing he knew, Cuellar’s office was being raided by FBI agents and Joe Biden’s DOJ charged him with bribery, money laundering, conspiracy, and acting as an unregistered foreign agent.
Cuellar is innocent until proven guilty, of course. It’s a little odd that the investigation into him was supposedly launched back in 2013, but he was only indicted and charged after he spoke out about Dirty Diaper Joe’s insane border policies. As you may remember, Biden did the same thing to New York City Mayor Eric Adams for speaking out against him.
As for Rep. LaMonica McIver, we all saw her committing the crimes she’s accused of. The videos went viral. It was like watching Santa Claus punch out the elves in the toy shop. There she was, in a bright red jacket, thundering her way through a crowd of federal officers. She was launching bombs with her big, scary fists at much smaller officers. I wouldn’t want to get hit by her! All she’d have to do is yell, “Hulk smash!” and I’d be running the other direction.
Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and her brother run a medical services company in Florida. The indictment states that they received a $5 million overpayment from FEMA under the Biden regime, and that they filtered that taxpayer money through a series of accounts. Cherfilus-McCormick then allegedly used the cash to finance her 2021 campaign for Congress, and to buy herself some nice things.
Again, all three of these individuals are innocent until proven guilty. But Congress did not apply that standard to Rep. George Santos. They stripped him of all committee assignments, and 105 Republicans joined with Democrats to expel him from Congress. That was before George’s trial had even started. We don’t have to imagine what would be happening right now if Cuellar, Cherfilus-McCormick, and the Hulk were Republicans.
Can we get a consistent standard on this? If we’re going to kick members out of Congress before their trials even start, then the House should vote on these three immediately. If we’re not going to do that, then the House of Representatives owes George Santos a formal apology.
