The New York Times Is Lying, Churches Aren’t Top Spreader of Virus

Enough with the lies. This is beyond exhausting and infuriating. The mainstream media used to at least deal in half-truths. Those days are over. You’ll only see outright fabrication from here on out. The most egregious example, shockingly, isn’t even regarding President Trump. It’s about the spread of the coronavirus. The New York Times has decided to blame churches. Strap in, because this one is a doozy.

Just read the title of this New York Times Article, “Churches Were Eager to Reopen. Now They Are a Major Source of Coronavirus Cases.” At face value, that sounds pretty bad. We’re seeing tens of thousands of infections every day. If those are coming from church, it’s going to be hard to convince people to keep coming.

This same article explains that there have been more than 650 cases of coronavirus linked to religious practices and facilities during the pandemic. Before we start really digging, keep in mind that this is the same New York Times that has claimed that mass Black Lives Matter protests somehow magically lowered transmission rates.

These aren’t half-truths. They aren’t sly misrepresentations. They are outright lies. First, the obvious. There have been 650 infections related to churches. That’s out of 3.5 million confirmed cases in the U.S. How is that a major source? If the whole pandemic could be summarized by 650 cases, we’d be in pretty good shape, wouldn’t we? There is no twisting of words that makes the title true. The NYT is deliberately manipulating the data to craft a storyline so political leaders will shut down religious institutions. The data actually shows that churches are one of the most insignificant sources of infection we have right now!

That’s not the end of it. The 650 number is a high-end estimate that dates back to early March — before there were any lockdowns. Suggesting that pre-lockdown infections are from churches rushing to reopen is another blatant lie.

As for the protests, those started the last three days of May. It was June 14 when a nationwide massive spike in cases began. That spike is still continuing. Do you know what else has continued throughout? That’s right; it’s protests. Let’s not forget that we’ve been told repeatedly that there’s a 14-day incubation period with this disease. That means that the spike in infections correlates perfectly with the onset of massive protesting.

In fact, nothing else can explain the spike. Absolutely nothing else. Every state has been on its own lockdown timeline. None of them correlate with the summer spike. Churches have been on different timelines too. None of those timelines correlate either. Then there’s the part where the alleged 650 cases come just a tiny bit short of explaining the millions of cases we’ve seen in the last month.

We know the truth. Hundreds of thousands of protesters have marched shoulder to shoulder for weeks on end. It is the only plausible explanation for the surge we have seen. Rather than admit that free Americans have been willing to risk their health for a cause they truly believe in, the New York Times has decided to outright lie and blame it on churches — churches that have largely been shut down by state orders.

The New York Times (and the rest of the mainstream media) really do thin that you’re this stupid. Considering that they have enough subscribers to still be in business, too many Americans are living up to that expectation.
