Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has just reintroduced the Matthew Lawrence Perna Act. The bill was originally written by former Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and co-sponsored by Rep. Greene. The bill never gained any traction in the previous session of Congress, so Rep. Greene has brought it up again.
The bill is named after a peaceful January 6 protester who committed suicide after Joe Biden’s Department of Justice lied to him and ruined his life. The question every voter should be asking their GOP representatives in Congress is: Why won’t you co-sponsor this bill?
Matthew Perna went to the January 6 protest to try to prevent the 2020 election from being stolen. He walked into the US Capitol with other protesters through an open door. Police greeted him and escorted him into the building. Matthew did not hurt anyone or break anything. He stood between the velvet ropes in the statuary hall and took some pictures. Then he left through the same door where he came in.
Months later, when he learned that the FBI was hunting him, he immediately turned himself in. He pleaded guilty to interrupting a meeting of Congress and three other misdemeanors. His sentencing hearing had been set for March 2022. After he cooperated every step of the way and pleaded guilty, the lying prosecutors at the Department of Justice broke the plea agreement that they had made with Matthew. They informed Matthew and the court that they were adding a terrorism enhancement to his charges.
Instead of serving a few months in jail under the original plea agreement, Matthew suddenly found himself facing the prospect of decades in prison. He killed himself in February of 2022. He was 37.
The obituary that his family posted after his death stated, “Matthew Lawrence Perna died on February 25, 2022 of a broken heart. His community (which he loved), his country, and the justice system killed his spirit and his zest for life.”
Greene’s legislation would ban the federal government from locking non-violent protesters up in prison, which is what the federal government did to many January 6ers. Did you know there are still Trump supporters being held in that scummy DC jail awaiting their trials, after three years? We complain about places like China and North Korea locking up political dissidents in gulags, but Joe Biden is doing the exact same thing right here in America.
The bill also ensures that political protesters will get fair and speedy trials. It provides remedies for malicious over-prosecution. It demands consistent sentencing guidelines for all political protesters who are charged with crimes. There are Democrats who burned buildings down during the BLM domestic terrorist attacks in 2020 who have not received sentences as harsh as the ones being handed down against January 6ers. Democrat protesters who break the law get a slap on the wrist, while peaceful January 6 defendants have been sentenced to 20 or more years in prison.
The bill also allows non-violent political protesters to request and receive a change of venue outside of Washington, DC. No Republican can ever get a fair trial in DC. The jury pool consists of people who always vote 95% or higher for the Democrat running for president. Not a single January 6 protester has successfully gotten a change of venue despite most of them requesting it.
“Matthew Perna’s tragic death serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked government brutality,” says Congresswoman Greene. “His life could have been spared if not for the relentless persecution by the Biden regime.”
As of this writing, the Biden DOJ has arrested 1,314 peaceful January 6 protesters. More are being arrested every single day. They ran out of January 6ers who entered the Capitol that day, so now the corrupt DOJ is arresting people who stood on the lawn in a public area outside the building. The ones who have been imprisoned without a trial all this time are routinely beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted by the guards in the DC jail.
Is there anything in that legislation that sounds objectionable? There’s no valid reason why any Republican or Democrat would be opposed to the Matthew Lawrence Perna Act. Yet not a single Member of Congress is willing to co-sponsor it. Republicans won’t even stand up for their own voters whose lives are being destroyed by the criminal Biden regime. What does that tell you about the Members of Congress?
First of all, the J6 incident was the handiwork of Nancy Pelosi. She, and her cronies, orchestrated the whole thing. She refused extra security from Trump, positioned what security she had too far away to be effective, had operatives in the crowd who coaxed the crowd to the Capitol, opened the doors when the Capitol was supposed to be in lockdown. However, like most criminal plots the whole thing went down twisted and a woman was shot to death. Nancy Pelosi’s actions were not female rage but is guilty of negligent homicide!!!
Are all members of Congress Chicken Sxxt, and unworthy of our support? It certainly appears to be the case. For an honest man to kill himself due to the incompetence, or unwillingness, of our elected representatives says a lot. The wrong people are in jail.. Start all over and throw Democrats and Republicans in prison.

This whole thing is nothing but a way for the crooked and corrupt politicians we have running this country now trying to make sure they are re-elected. What is puzzeling to me is the Democrats are condoning this and the Republicans are griping about it and doing nothing to stop it. They are supposed to be representing the people. There is more than enough evidence that this is a polical scam. We need a house cleaning in Washington of both parties. We have no honest politicians anymore. It brings me to tears that others fail to give their support to this bill. One thing is for sure. I refuse to vote for cowards and traitors, and being “self serving” appears to be why this bill goes unsupported. Unfortunately bad things happen to good people.
