Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) warned that Biden’s destructive energy policy will force Americans to suffer from widespread “blackouts and brownouts” as summer heats up, calling what Biden is doing an all-out “war on American energy.”
During an appearance on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Perry said that since President Biden got into the White House, he has been worshipping “at the altar of the Green New Deal.”
“When you have a leader who declares himself king, rules by fiat, and on day one declares war on American energy, there’s going to be casualties,” Perry advised.
“And unfortunately, those casualties are the American people’s dreams and their budgets — all for the sake of worshiping at the altar of the Green New Deal, and you’re seeing the manifestation of it right now.”
“Gas prices through the roof, while the president speaks out of one side of his mouth about the Putin price hike or about the industry profits; on the other side, not allowing for court-ordered gas and oil leasing in Alaska and in the Gulf of Mexico, the absolute all-out regulatory assault on the energy industry.”
“It’s not just oil and gas. It’s electricity,” he continued.
“We’re going to have blackouts and brownouts coming across the country, not just in California. Texas — ERCOT has already announced them. The Midwest has announced them. They’re going to try to rely on the East Coast, on the PJM. Energy prices that you can’t afford for energy that you can’t get, whether it’s driving to work or whether it’s air conditioning your home.”
“This is all by design. We’ve been saying it for years. This is all by design, and it’s unnecessary, policy-driven by the extreme radical far-left environmentalist movement.”
Biden has already admitted that part of their plan is to take advantage of this manufactured crisis to force a transition away from fossil fuels.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), has warned that this transition being pushed by Biden would be “a very long, hard, difficult transition, very expensive for the American people,” adding that it would take years for the electric grid to be able to support an all-electric transportation fleet.
Blackburn stated, “They are determined to run up the price of gas, to limit access to fossil fuels, to make it more difficult and more expensive for fossil fuels, and force people to go buy cars that they can’t afford. Because they’re too expensive, and then it runs up the cost of electricity.”
“Because our electric power generators and our electric power distributors will tell you you’re at least a decade away from being able to support an all-electric fleet for transportation.”
“So, this is something that — you’re talking about economic hardship if the Democrats get their way. And it’s not transitory, and this is not just transition. This would be a very long, hard, difficult transition, very expensive for the American people.”
Mr. Biden should come to our house when it’s 110° outside and we have a rolling blackout without even plugging in millions of electric cars.
When it hits 90° inside, perhaps he would rethink his rush to go to electric cars without planning ahead. As a retired person, I resent being cooked alive indoors after working for over 40 years to even be able to retire. Thanks to YOU Joe, retirement has turned out to be the opposite of what we thought it would be at our house. One can only hope that those in our PATHETIC administration will burn in Hell for eternity as payment for what they have done to our country, and every American in it.

We live in Knoxville TN so it gets hot here as well. We are seniors (in our 70’s) and we worked so hard all our lives to now be subjected to trying to survive with the cost of gasoline, food, utility costs rising and trying to keep up with costly meds and vitamin supplements. I used to feel so sorry for the seniors who had to make choices on buying food or medications. I certainly get it first hand now because we are living it. Some days I just want to give up and pass away so I won’t have to struggle anymore. God bless everyone who is struggling right now. What’s next? I believe that older folks and children are now the problems for our society. Please tell me I am wrong?
Reading the post from Cheyenne is heart breaking. This gentlemen worked forty years to be subjected to this treatment and I am sure there are many others in the same situation, very sad.
