Democrats Search for Snitches is Heading Down a Blind Alley

So, Democrats, you want to subpoena more witnesses for this show trial? We’ll see your Bolton and raise you two Bidens.

Actually, Jerry Nadler said that the Democrats were in no mood to negotiate on any witnesses called to testify during the Senate impeachment trial. Those mean, old Republicans just want to continue the cover up!

As to Hunter Biden, Nadler whined, “Hunter Biden has no knowledge of the accusations against the President.”

That’s the big problem with Jerry Nadler, the Democrats’ answer to the forked-tongue Wizard of Oz: He throws swamp water on the truth and tells everyone it’s raining.

The truth is that the Democrats want no part of either of the Bidens. They especially don’t want Hunter’s doddering dad Joe trying to defend his own actions as Vice President to protect Hunter. Just watching the steam escaping from Joe’s ears when any reporter broaches that subject is quite telling on how sensitive and vulnerable he is on this subject.

Do the Democrats really want Hunter Biden opening the can of worms that is Ukraine? If that happens, they will start a feeding frenzy. And even Schiff the Shark wants no part of that.

In the meantime, Nadler and Schiff are telling everyone that the case against the President is overwhelming. He is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Never mind that half of their case is essentially hearsay backed up by a whistleblower who was caught lying on paper.

The second half is the nonsense about the President blocking their efforts to impeach him. This charge is so ridiculous as to be self-cancelling. Even Adam Schiff struggles with defending how you can charge a President with obstruction when you don’t take your subpoenas to court.

Well, we didn’t have time for all that, said Shifty Schiff. The President was doing such harm to the country that we had to move quickly.

By “harm” did Schiff mean the historic trade deal with Mexico and Canada? How about the soaring stock market and the ever-plummeting unemployment figures? What universe of paranoid self-delusion does the Democrat leadership inhabit?

So, in their hope to call witnesses that they didn’t originally call, would Lev Parnas be one of them? Parnas had his 30 seconds of fame on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow, who still has not learned that wishing does not make it so. (Remember election night 2016?)

Parnas is a former associate of Rudy Giuliani. He received $1 million from a Ukrainian oligarch and faces campaign finance violations here in the U.S.

And, yes, says Parnas, the President, who is a personal friend of his, knew all about everything that went on. Parnas has the undated and fevered emails and text messages to prove it. In Parnas’s opinion, the President is guilty—beyond a reasonable doubt.

Parnas, however, can’t even meet Schiff’s low standards of credibility. Instead, Schiff just included Parnas’ “evidence,” like undated “notes to self” that implied Presidential guilt. In the interview Parnas gave to Maddow you can see how his story shifts from at first insisting the President knew to saying “Well he had to of known” to “I think he knew.” Parnas is but another example of the shady shenanigans that goes on in politics and is part of the swamp the President is trying to navigate.

But, as the saying goes, when you’re up to your ass in impeachment, it’s hard to remember that your original intent was to drain the swamp.

As the brackish waters of impeachment recede to the inevitable outcome of acquittal, the verdict of an enraged American electorate will reach the Democrats: Democrats used the power of impeachment in ways never intended by our founders. That trip is about to end.
