The President’s State of the Union Address Will Be a Victory Lap

Just one day before the Senate will acquit the President of the two bogus articles of impeachment, President Trump will deliver his third State of the Union Address (tonight at 9 pm). This will begin a busy week as the Democrats inflict yet another rash on the body politic and try to show how Bernie Sanders is a woman hater and Little Mikey Bloomberg earns a place (standing on a box) with the taller candidates because he has, uh, money.

As President Trump goes eyeball to eyeball with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who seems to get all sweaty and nervous in the presence of The Donald, it will be interesting watching her fidget, frown, and grind her dentures.

President Trump will undoubtedly use this event to his political advantage. The economy is speeding along on all cylinders, and unemployment is at a historic low. Minorities and the middle class have benefited. Moreover, over 50,000 coal miners in the U.S. simply aren’t interested in Joe Biden’s suggestion that they become computer coders.

So, as the Democrats sit on their hands and frown at all the good news, once again, everyone will get the message.

The President’s theme, according to an administration official close to the president will be “the great American comeback.” In the face of relentless obstruction, personal attacks, and the most shamefully political impeachment in the country’s history, President Trump will lay out his vision of optimism.

Said the official, “He will encourage Congress to work with him to continue building an inclusive economy where the least well-off are making some of the fastest gains and where people of every background are finding new opportunities.”

Good luck with that, Mr. President.

The House of Representatives has gone completely and irrevocably insane with hatred for the President. Like alcoholics who have bottomed out, what the House needs is a period of detox. That means depriving Democrats of their power to stage another impeachment. They need to be voted out of office.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will probably do their post-speech Ma and Pa Kettle routine. They will ask how can it be a fair verdict when there were no witnesses and documents? The answer is that on about every level, the Democrats blew it:

  • They put a partisan Trump hater, Adam Schiff, in charge. Schiff lied about nearly everything and was caught.
  • The Democrats’ articles of impeachment were weak and showed their willingness to do anything to get Trump out of office.
  • The Speaker sent that same gaggle of partisan idiots to press their weak case. (The Republicans used qualified and respected jurists to slam dunk the impeachment case into history’s trash can.)
  • Democrat impeachment managers on a number of occasions insulted senators by intimating that an acquittal was somehow a dereliction of duty and violation of their oath.

Finally, Democrats insisted that the Senate call additional witnesses and produce more evidence. Bring on John Bolton and other people close to President Trump. We need to get to the truth.

Majority Leader to House mangers: Why didn’t you do that yourselves? That was your job. Our job is to try the case you present.

Some have suggested President Trump postpone the State of the Union Address until after his acquittal. President Trump dismissed the idea without a second thought. The President stoically refused to acknowledge that a shamefully partisan exercise should in any way affect his vision of keeping America great.
