Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is having a bad week. Since the news broke that she’s being accused of appointing her unqualified lover to run the special prosecution of Donald Trump, things have been downhill for Fani. We love this story because it’s hilarious and par for the course for the Democrats, but when you take two steps back, there are some serious things to consider here.
If the allegations are all true, Fani Willis broke the law, abused her authority, and personally profited from bilking the Georgia taxpayers, all while running a false prosecution against President Trump with direct coordination from the Biden White House. And Fani’s week gets even worse from there!
What we know so far is that Fani Willis is accused of having a sexual affair with a married attorney named Nathan Wade. Willis passed over more experienced prosecutors in Fulton County to instead appoint Nathan Wade to run the phony Georgia RICO case against President Trump and nearly 20 co-defendants. Willis has authorized close to $1 million in taxpayer funds be paid to her boyfriend who is running the prosecution.
One of Trump’s co-defendants has filed a motion to have Fani Willis and the entire Fulton County DA’s office dismissed from the case for malfeasance. Nathan Wade would not be qualified to defend a case against RICO charges, and he’s certainly not qualified to run a prosecution of a major RICO case. It appears that Fani Willis appointed Wade as the special prosecutor simply because she is sleeping with him.
With the huge sums of Georgia taxpayer money that has been doled out to Nathan Wade, he has allegedly taken Fani Willis on lavish vacations to Napa Valley, Florida, and multiple Caribbean cruises. Which means that Fani Willis has personally and financially benefited through the illegitimate appointment of her boyfriend as the special prosecutor.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who represents the taxpayers in Georgia, filed a criminal referral against Fani Willis on Thursday. She’s urging Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr to investigate and press charges against Willis if the allegations are true. Greene wrote in her referral that “Fani Willis’ serious lawlessness, including potential violation of public oath” undermines her ability to prosecute President Trump.
President Trump also weighed in on the growing scandal, saying, “You had a very big event yesterday as you saw in Georgia where the district attorney is totally compromised. The case has to be dropped. They went after 18 or 20 people. … She was out of her mind. Now it turns out that case is totally compromised.”
““It’s illegal. What she did is illegal. So, we’ll let the state handle that, but what a sad situation it is,” Trump added.
The reason why Willis and Wade got caught was because Wade billed Fulton County for two 8-hour meetings that he had with the White House Counsel. He billed them on an invoice from the “Fulton County Special Prosecutor,” so we know that the sole purpose of those two 8-hour meetings was to discuss the case against Trump with Joe Biden’s lawyer. In case it needs to be said, the White House Counsel is not a part of the Justice Department, so this is clearly a partisan political persecution, and not a legitimate use of the law.
Pause for a second and consider how crazy that is. Prior to Nathan Wade filing racketeering charges against President Trump and his co-defendants, the special prosecutor met for 16 hours with Joe Biden’s lawyer at the White House. It would look bad enough if Wade had met with Merrick Garland or Jack Smith at the Justice Department. This looks even worse, since the White House counsel isn’t even a prosecutor.
Oh, but Fani Willis’s week got even worse than that. Nathan Wade is in the process of going through a contentious divorce with his wife right now. The wife’s divorce lawyer just slapped Fani Willis with a subpoena to come and testify in the divorce case. Which pretty much confirms that all of the allegations made against Willis will be proven true very soon.
Get your popcorn ready, because this is going to be soooo good! How ironic is it going to be if Fani Willis ends up being criminally prosecuted for breaking the law as part of her “Get Trump” strategy? The best-case scenario is that she’ll resign in shame within the next week or so.
