Over the years, the Democrats have been inching closer and closer towards forcing Americans to pay reparations for slavery, a glorified attempt to buy Black votes with other people’s money.
Leading up to the 2020 election the conversation accelerated rapidly with several presidential hopefuls on the left proclaiming they would introduce reparations if elected president.
As you would expect with an election coming up, those conversations are now creeping back into the mainstream. With Americans more strapped for cash than they have been in recent history, this time around it might actually be enough to win Democrats some votes they DESPERATELY need.
Just last month, the United Nations – controlled by left-wing globalists – called for reparations knowing that it would help the Democrats more easily resume these talks in America.
“Reparatory justice is not just about addressing the wrongful acts of the past, it is about building societies that are truly inclusive, equal and free from racism,” U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said in a press release.
While reparations would give cash to Black Americans – it would do so by TAKING that money from the rest of the country who are equally bogged down by a Biden economy.
With an estimated price tag of $12.9 TRILLION, the average American family would be forced to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars just to help the Democrats pull off this vote buying scheme.
According to a recent report by the Manhattan Institute, MOST of the burden would fall on taxpayers whose ancestors had NOTHING to do with slavery.
“Since the 2020 ‘racial reckoning,’ there has been increased political momentum behind reparations for slavery,” Manhattan Institute Fellow Charles Fain Lehman wrote in the report. “To ask the question ‘Who pays?’ produces uncomfortable answers.”
75 Percent of those who support reparations believe that it should be funded by the federal government – a government which gets all of its revenue by siphoning it from the American taxpayer.
As many as 70 percent of the Americans who would have to pay up descended from ancestors who arrived after slavery ended.
“Publicly funded reparations for slavery will entail taking money from tens of millions of people who are not — even under assumptions of inherited guilt that are already wildly at odds with the American tradition — plausibly responsible for slavery,” Lehman wrote.
“If those taxpayers are not the long-term beneficiaries of slavery — the descendants of slaveholders,” Lehman wrote, “the tax burden will unfairly fall on people who owe no ostensible debt.”
With an estimated payout of roughly $400,000 per recipient, the government could force non-Black Americans to pay $147,000 EACH to support that.
That means couples would be ordered to pay up almost $300,000 to help the Democrats buy votes!
Clearly, demanding these Americans pay reparations would “represent a substantial fiscal burden,” Lehman wrote.
This policy sounds insane, but the possibility of reparations actually being introduced federally is not as far-fetched as it once was.
California Governor Gavin Newsom is widely considered to be the heir to the Democratic throne – next in line to replace Biden should he, for whatever reason, not run again in 2024.
That’s particularly concerning because Newsom has ALREADY rolled out reparations in the state of California. In 2020 he signed legislation to establish a reparations task force, which recently recommended payments of $1.2 million to each eligible black resident.
If the Democrats somehow manage to retain control of the White House in 2024, American families could very well be robbed blind by their own federal government to fund this radical reparations nonsense!
