Joe Biden still hasn’t figured out that he needs to go away. It’s a common problem among Democrats (see: Hillary Clinton). Just recently, he gave a speech that was full of false information and dangerous rhetoric. Even by Biden’s standards, it was pretty rough. He took his time attacking white men in every way he could imagine, and as you can probably guess, none of it was rooted in truth.
The Rambling of an Old White Man
Joe Biden embodied everything he hates when he gave the speech. He appeared to catch none of the irony. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with being old, white, male or any combination of the three. Biden was trying to pander to left-wing extremists. They view elderly white men as some type of caricature rather than actual human beings. It was almost amusing to see Biden behave exactly like the out of touch “white man” that the left hates so much.
The content of this speech was incoherent and off on every point. He rambled about it being unjust that Anita Hill had to testify in front of a bunch of white men. For anyone who isn’t old enough to remember, Anita Hill was a less-extreme version of Christine Ford. When Clarence Thomas was nominated for the Supreme Court in 1991, she tried to assassinate his character by claiming he sexually harassed her.
The circus played out pretty much exactly like what you saw with Justice Kavanaugh last year. The testimony had major holes, and ultimately Thomas was confirmed to the Supreme Court. Also, she testified before a diverse group — not a room of old white men.
Biden then transitioned to explain how the phrase “rule of thumb” is rooted in evil sexism. According to Biden, this phrase originated in old English common law. Because so many men had beaten their wives to death, the rules were changed so that they could not use a rod wider than the width of their thumb. You might have heard this before somewhere. Like the gender wage gap and other feminist talking points, it’s completely untrue.
The term “rule of thumb” does stem from old English law, but not in the way feminists and Biden claim. A judge in the 1600s was accused of stating a man should not beat his wife with a rod wider than his thumb. There is no historical record of him ever saying it.
Instead, it was slander intended to hurt his career. Like Thomas and Kavanaugh, who would follow him centuries later, leftists tried to paint him as a monster with nothing more than lies. It worked too. He was ridiculed as “judge thumb” for his whole career. Are we seeing a pattern yet?
The Truth Behind it All
Biden’s point (if there was one hidden in this grotesque pandering) is that white culture is evil. The white man beats his wife, hates women, doesn’t care about the environment, and basically ruined America for everyone. This anti-logic flies in the face of actual facts and data. The following is not intended to promote white supremacy, and anyone who hijacks it for that purpose is twisting these words. Instead, it’s a reminder that race cannot make someone good or bad.
Historically, western culture has been a force for more good than any other before it. The majority of those accomplishments were in fact driven by white men (old and young). Here’s a short list of how this culture has improved the world:
- They invented common law itself that gave inalienable rights to people regardless of class, station or wealth.
- Individual freedoms and the very concept of liberty originate in western culture.
- That freedom has led to the development of every major technology and process that has made the world a better place. The industrial farming that the left hates so much has brought hunger to an all-time global low.
- Western advances in medicine include the vaccine (that his completely eradicated the deadliest plagues ever known on this earth), cesarean section (that reduced infant mortality by tens of millions a year), air travel and so much more.
Trying to blame white men for the woes of the world deliberately ignores the countless good that has come from his contributions.
In reality, race doesn’t matter. Freedom is why all of these success stories exist, and the left is trying to assault freedom by demonizing the culture that made it a global phenomenon. That’s what this has always been about. When you have freedom and still don’t succeed, you can only blame yourself. The victim mentality of the left hates that, so they’ll tear down everything good until all that is left is excuses and suffering.
Joe Biden’s speech catered to that mentality, and it makes him a direct enemy of the people of this country and the world. So, in a way, he’s partially right. At least one old white man is an abomination who makes the world a darker place.
