There are three things you likely know that are very important to global politics right now. First, coronavirus is a real pandemic, and it is hurting the global economy. The U.S. has begun preparations for it to make an impact here and we are seeing that affect the stock market and community services already.
Second is that Bernie Sanders is in a very good position to win the Democratic nomination.
Third is that President Trump fully won the trade war with China. He got them to fold on almost every point in the new agreement. That third seems like a smaller story, but it’s the lynchpin that connects all three of these things. And it shows how and why China deliberately released coronavirus to influence the American election.
There is already strong evidence that China purposefully developed the coronavirus. The verdict isn’t out yet as to whether they were simply experimenting with the disease or trying to engineer a weapon, but there are some facts that can’t be ignored. The virus did not originate in a food market. That has been proven. It did originate within walking distance from a Chinese bioresearch lab.
That lab has been shown to have purchased biological warfare secrets from an American professor. That professor is named Dr. Charles Lieber and he was the chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard. Dr Charles Lieber was arrested for spying on behalf of China and taking a Biden sized salary from the communist regime.
You can add to that the fact that all of the original whistleblowers on the outbreak of the virus have disappeared or died. There is absolutely no question that China has tried to hide the source and scope of the outbreak.
These are the established (and terrifying) facts.
So far, the most likely explanation for the pandemic we’re seeing right now is that China engineered the virus. The question is why, and that is harder to prove. There are two popular speculations. You can decide for yourself what to believe.
The first speculation is that China lost the trade war and they knew it. Tariffs were destroying the Chinese economy, and they were quickly burning through cash reserves to try and endure until the 2020 election. When President Xi Jinping signed a preliminary trade deal with President Trump, he tacitly admitted as much. The U.S. economy grew throughout the trade war. There was no way for China to win.
China was already agreeing to massive concessions. President Xi could either eat the loss and look weak in front of his people, or he could try to get revenge. The speculation is that he released the coronavirus to distract his country and the world from China’s defeat in the trade war with the U.S. In the panic and confusion, he could get away with continuing to violate international agreements, and the world would help China to overcome the hardships. Foreign aid could conceivably replace economic losses in the trade deal.
Would China be willing to kill thousands — even millions — of its own people to save face? History suggests yes.
There’s a second speculation. For all the bad things we could say about modern China, they have a robust intelligence network, and smart, capable people work in that network. The Chinese government is perfectly aware that President Trump is historically likely to win re-election. The one thing that could really stand in his way is an economic recession. The trade war made it clear that the U.S. economy is in a very strong place. The only way to force a recession is to cut supply chains, and China couldn’t do that on a whim. They needed an excuse, and an international pandemic seems like a great smokescreen.
Did they do this for Bernie Sanders? Probably not. But, if President Trump doesn’t win this year, it’s very likely that Sanders will. You can trust that China would consider the election of a socialist in the United States to be a big, beautiful, sweet cherry on top of their plan.
Chinese dictators have intentionally starved tens of millions of their own people to maintain power. Chinese President Xi Jinping has disappeared more than 10 million political prisoners since he ascended to power and changed the law to make himself a de-facto king. You can absolutely trust that he would weaponize a virus and use it against his own people in order to hurt the global economy and his chief political adversary. In fact, any other explanation seems far-fetched.
