For an entire week, Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks was basically in charge of the entire US military, and she was the only one that knew about it. The Pentagon, Joe Biden, the White House, the Department of Defense, and the American people didn’t know about it.
That’s because Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin didn’t show up for work for a week. He didn’t call in sick. Not only did no one know where he was—nobody even realized he was gone! What does that say about the state of the US military with Team Biden in charge?
It was days before anyone at the Pentagon or the White House even noticed that Lloyd Austin was missing. How long do you suppose you could go missing from your workplace before someone called to figure out where you are? An hour? Tops? And your job is probably slightly less important than the defense of the entire United States.
Once everyone realized that the Secretary of Defense was, in fact, AWOL, nobody knew where he was, and nobody knew why he was missing. As far as the chuckleheads in the Biden regime knew, the Chinese may have snatched him. He was simply gone, with no reason or explanation. It later turned out that he had notified Hicks and left her in charge—but she didn’t tell anyone!
Eventually someone figured out that Austin was in the hospital, so the story then became that Secretary Austin was hospitalized from complications due to an elective procedure. That got the rumor mill spinning like crazy. Some believed he had gone in for some type of elective surgery for fat people. I lost the office pool, since I put my money on Austin getting a sex change.
It turns out that the initial story—like all initial stories from the Biden White House—was a lie. Austin wasn’t hospitalized from complications from an elective surgery. He underwent major surgery for prostate cancer and then got an infection. And none of the buffoons in the federal government even knew he wasn’t showing up at the office!
It kind of makes you wonder what Lloyd Diversity Hire’s normal workdays look like. Does he not show up at the office for days at a time on a regular basis? Is that why nobody noticed he was even gone?
The fact that he kept his cancer diagnosis and surgery a secret from everyone is just flat-out weird. Did he put America’s national security at risk out of fears that Joe Biden would give his job to someone else? It kind of looks that way, doesn’t it?
Nobody ever gets held accountable for the failures of this regime. Instead of firing Lloyd Austin on the spot, the Biden White House is now implementing a “policy review.” Biden’s Chief of Staff Jeff Zients sent out a memo to every Cabinet secretary’s office ordering them to tell the White House by Friday of any existing procedures for delegating authority if someone doesn’t show up at work.
“Agencies should ensure that delegations are issued when a Cabinet Member is traveling to areas with limited or no access to communication, undergoing hospitalization or a medical procedure requiring general anesthesia, or otherwise in a circumstance when he or she may be unreachable,” Zients wrote.
Passing the buck, in other words.
This is a massive White House scandal, but the White House is trying to make it look like some sort of procedural SNAFU at the Pentagon. Do we really need a policy review to explain to people that you have to show up at work on time, or notify someone if you’re undergoing major surgery? It seems like that should be one of those unwritten things that people should know by the time they’re getting a job at the White House.
Then again, the Biden regime is staffed by such an army of morons that maybe they do need to spell out the policy. Maybe put it on a sign next to the one telling them to wash their hands after they pee.
The bottom line is that Lloyd Austin needs to be fired at a minimum. It’s unclear whether he can actually be prosecuted for dereliction of duty, since he’s a civilian, but jail time doesn’t seem like such a bad idea compared to endangering national security the way that he did. Then again, knowing how Washington functions, Austin will probably get a promotion now.
