Keeping in line with the Democrats’ push to demonize Americans who voted for Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has now said that former President Trump is basically Adolf Hitler, adding that if you follow him you might be a Nazi.
Clinton, who is still upset over her embarrassing loss to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, claimed that his most recent campaign event in Ohio reminded her of a Nazi rally.
“I remember as a young student, you know, trying to figure out, how people get basically drawn in by Hitler. How did that happen? I’d watch newsreels and I’d see this guy standing up there ranting and raving, and people shouting and raising their arms. I thought, ‘What’s happened to these people?’” Clinton said at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.
“You saw the rally in Ohio the other night, Trump is there ranting and raving for more than an hour, and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised. I thought, ‘What is going on?’”
Clinton was referencing some rally attendees who were holding up their index finger, gesturing #1, before the security at the event ultimately came over to them and had them stop – potentially out of fear that desperate Democrats would take the images and spin it like Clinton has.
A Trump spokesman responded by saying, “As usual, the media is working hand in hand with the Democrats weeks before an election.”
“It seems like perpetual-failed-candidate Hillary Clinton’s basket of deplorables has run stale, not unlike herself,” the spokesman continued. “It’s pathetic, it’s divisive, and it is further cementing her legacy of cringe.”
During her campaign against Trump in 2016, Clinton similarly used a slur against Trump’s supporters when she said they were all a “basket of deplorables,” a comment which famously came back to haunt her as it only energized Trump’s base even further.
Clinton’s comments fall in with the Democrats’ overarching narrative push as of late, but they also signal that she may be preparing to make yet another bid at the White House.
In fact, a veteran political consultant and former Clinton adviser signaled that the Democrats may be planning to “dump” Biden in favor of Hillary.
Dems “are planning to dump Biden,” adding that Clinton would be the party’s nominee if no other centrist candidate emerged.
“Once Biden pulls out, the polling will show that the Democrats are leaning toward some crazy radical like Gavin Newson, Bernie Sanders. Maybe even AOC herself,” Morris suggested.
“That’s going to drive the Democratic Party leaders to go to Hillary and say, ‘Hey look. Please run again. We need you to save us from the crazy left,” he continued. “Otherwise we’ll have Sanders as our candidate. We’ll lose Congress by a ton. And we’ll get wiped out in the presidential race.’”
While Clinton has claimed multiple times that she has no plans to run for president again, Morris said that Clinton was “waiting for the wipeout” of Democrats in the November midterm elections “to justify her candidacy and say, ‘Only I can save you from this happening again.’”
