Democrats in Congress have just passed legislation protecting women from being discriminated against in the workplace because of their hair (which was already illegal). Good thing there aren’t any serious problems going on in America right now!
Not to let the US Senate off the hook; they voted late last week to make Daylight Savings Time permanent – an experiment that failed disastrously when it was last tried in 1974.
These people really do hate us. No one in charge is even talking about ideas to fix the inflation and the pain at the gas pump. But hair discrimination is now re-illegal!
The bill that the House passed was HR 2116, the “Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair” Act – the CROWN Act. The bill was so stupid and unnecessary that 25 Republicans didn’t even bother to show up for the vote. They knew that Pelosi’s caucus would pass the pointless legislation no matter what.
The bill makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against workers based on hair texture or hair styles that are associated with a particular race or national origin. Again: That’s already illegal under federal law. It’s illegal for an employer to treat one person differently than another because of race, color or national origin, which includes grooming and hairstyles.
So… what was the point of this colossal waste of time by the Democrats?
Their corporate donors told them to pass the bill. The Dove corporation – the multinational soap-making company – is behind the CROWN Act. It’s part of the corporate world’s attempts to deify Black Lives Matter advocates and criminals like the late George Floyd.
Dove created something called the CROWN Coalition to lobby Congress on this bill. The CROWN Coalition is comprised of the groups Color of Change (the race-hustling organization founded by CNN’s Van Jones), the National Urban League, and the Western Center on Law & Poverty.
When the CROWN Coalition was formed, it went right to work inventing statistics and research out of thin air. For example, one Dove-CROWN research study showed that black women are 80% more likely to change their hairstyles to meet social norms. Because Asian women, Hispanic women and White women have never done that!
Another study showed that black women are “1.5 times more likely to be sent home or know of a black woman sent home from the workplace because of her hair.”
This is one of those fake statistics that makes reporters shut their brains off as they mindlessly repeat it, as if it is a fact. First, have you personally ever seen anyone sent home from work because of their hair? I haven’t. And I worked with some major potheads and drunks during my mainstream media days! In 20 years in the workplace, I can think of one instance where a white guy was sent home from work for insubordination to the boss.
But sending someone home because of their hair? Really? When it comes to workplace hairstyles, women can be catty with each other, and men generally don’t give a crap. (Sorry, we just don’t.) I can’t speak for any of the other 57 genders, because I’ve never worked for any of them. I’m going to go out on a limb state that sending black women home from work because of their hair is not a thing. Out of all the things that never happened, that never happened the most.
Yet that’s the exact talking point that Democrats seized upon in their journey to pass the CROWN Act for their Big Soap donors. Congresswoman Bonnie Coleman Watson (D-NJ) tweeted:
“Discrimination against Black women and girls because of their natural hair is far too common in our workplaces and schools. I’m proud to sponsor the #CROWNAct, which would ban this racist practice.”
Meanwhile, the country is falling apart, and it costs $8.56 a gallon for regular unleaded in rural California towns. And once again, the Democrat Party’s altruism has actually made the workplace less safe for black women.
One area where employers are allowed to regulate hair length is in jobs that have heavy machinery or equipment with lots of moving parts. You can’t have employees with long weaves or braids in this situation, because it could snap someone’s neck if they accidentally get their hair caught in a machine. But the CROWN Act, if it’s passed in the Senate and signed by Joe Biden, would make it illegal for those employers to regulate hair length for black women. Great job, Democrats!
Americans are suffering from high gas prices and inflation, but not to worry. The Democrats have World War Hair under control.

It does seem ridiculous that when the world is on the brink of WWIII, the democrats spend valuable(?) time to pass a “hair” bill, when they could have been doing something constructive like working to reduce inflation or developing plans to open parts of the U.S. to oil exploration. Or they could have strengthened the border by completing the “fence” to keep out illegal immigrants.
