Walgreens Closing Stores in Liberal San Francisco After Shoplifting Spike

Another California retailer has said it can’t take anymore, as Walgreens announces it will close five stores in San Francisco following widespread thefts.

“Due to ongoing organized retail crime, we have made the difficult decision to close five stores across San Francisco,” Walgreens said in a statement Tuesday.

“Organized retail crime continues to be a challenge facing retailers across San Francisco, and we are not immune to that. Retail theft across our San Francisco stores has continued to increase in the past few months to five times our chain average.

“During this time to help combat this issue, we increased our investments in security measures in stores across the city to 46 times our chain average in an effort to provide a safe environment,” the company said.

Forty-six times the average apparently wasn’t enough for “defund the police” supporting San Francisco.

The scary trend could have serious consequences for those who rely on the pharmacy to provide their medications. Yes, there are other pharmacies nearby, but the thefts are not only hurting Walgreens. Area crime is hurting everyone in the city.

Yes, this is the same city where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been a House member for about 3,000 years. Despite her alleged reforms for the state and nation, California has successfully completed 2020 as the first year with more people leaving the state than moving into it.

In addition, top companies like Tesla are moving out, saying they aren’t going to take the state’s liberal policies anymore. California has some of the most beautiful locations in the world, but liberals have ruined it so much that the state will soon have to build a wall to keep its people in.

Gov. Newsom has nearly accomplished the same with his Draconian lockdowns throughout the pandemic. What began as masking and staying home has turned into a requirement for many workers to be vaccinated to keep their jobs. Even the state’s students ages 12 and up will soon be required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination simply to go to school.

Newsom also just decided to phase out all gas powered small engines. This will include lawnmowers, basically killing off all landscaping companies that will not be able to afford to be the new battery-powered versions that will soon be required.

But at least the sea turtles will live and we will reduce our carbon footprint, right? But only if we all drive electric cars (which liberals apparently forget must be plugged in to a fossil fuel source to charge) and stop using plastic so the icebergs don’t melt.

Despite the left’s climate change agenda, the reality is that if a store can’t operate without feeling safe, it won’t. That’s true of Walgreens, it’s true of the big businesses leaving the state and it’s true of the many people leaving California.

The state had a chance to change the situation in the recent recall vote. Now voters will have to suffer the consequences of its leftist drift as more retailers exit the failed government leadership.
