For the last few weeks, many of us have been eagerly waiting for the hearing that started in Fulton County, GA, on Thursday. We couldn’t wait to see District Attorney Fani Willis and her high-priced loverboy take the stand to testify about their inappropriate sexual relationship and misappropriation of taxpayer funds as they led the RICO prosecution of Donald Trump has his co-defendants.
We couldn’t wait—but now we just want her to shut up. This feeling is universal, apparently, because nobody called her back into court Friday to continue her self-incriminating testimony.
During my adult lifetime, I’ve served on juries and on a grand jury once, in addition to covering criminal trials for ABC News. My wife was an attorney years ago before she shut down her practice to be a stay-at-home mom. I’ve had to hire attorneys a couple of times as well, including after Merrick Garland sent the FBI to interrogate me after the illegal Mar a Lago raid. My point is that I’ve seen a lot of good defense attorneys and bad defense attorneys in my day, as well as good prosecutors and terrible ones.
I say all that to qualify this next statement:
Fani Willis is the single WORST lawyer I’ve ever seen. Talk about an affirmative action hire. How is it possible that this bubblehead was elected the District Attorney of the most populous county in Georgia?
Every good attorney will advise you on how to properly answer questions when you’re testifying in a hearing, sitting for a deposition, or answering questions that the police or the FBI are asking. Give a truthful answer with as narrow a scope as possible. And never answer a hypothetical question.
If the answer to a question is a simple “Yes” or “No,” then answer “Yes” or “No” and SHUT UP. If you keep talking and rambling on and on, you are going to state something that your interrogator will use to hang you.
Fani Willis must have skipped that lesson in law school. Holy cow, can this woman blab or what? She tends to filibuster for ten minutes when asked a simple question. She’s like the Energizer Bunny if the Bunny spoke in Ebonics. Part of the time she remembered to speak in English, but whenever she started to get upset and defensive, she’d slip back into the ghetto speech that she’s obviously more comfortable with. It felt like trying to interpret Jim’s dialogue in Huckleberry Finn.
“I’m gwan axt you som’n’ mose!”
What? I kept expecting Jerry Springer to jump out during Fani’s testimony to announce who the real father was.
She just kept blabbing on and on and on. At one point, she explained to the court what a wine tour entails, from her trip to Napa Valley with Wade at taxpayer expense. So that all you po’ people can feel jealous of her! You ain’t do no wine tours, did y’all? She then tediously explained that she doesn’t even like wine; she prefers Grey Goose vodka ($19.99 at Walmart—stay classy, Fani!).
The childishly transparent story that Fani Willis and loverboy Nathan Wade concocted for their testimony was that when they went on lavish luxury vacations together all around the world, Nathan paid for everything and then Fani paid him back with cash. That way, there’s no paper trail. The judge will have to take their word against the word of all the other witnesses who are contradicting them.
This was perplexing to the attorneys questioning her, since she pays for every other expense in her life, including her rent, with CashApp on her smartphone. Despite paying digitally for everything else in her life, she claimed to keep a pile of cash in her home.
Then—and this is just amazing to me—she literally confessed under oath to committing a campaign finance felony when she ran for office. She said that she took cash from her campaign and kept it for herself. That’s illegal, but I guess we shouldn’t expect the worst lawyer in the world to know that. I almost fell out of my chair laughing at her.
We’ve said it many times before and it seems like this is worth repeating here. Donald Trump is blessed with the most mediocre and dumb enemies imaginable. This is who the Biden Justice Department sent to prosecute a former president? Really?
She pitched such a drama queen hissy fit on Thursday that the judge recessed the hearing for the rest of the day. They didn’t even call her back to testify on Friday. She had dug the hole deep enough by then anyway.
Here’s Fani Willis confessing to a felony under oath:
I was captive audience in a waiting room where the TV had Fani on in all her glory. After ten minutes, the screen went black, and the service counter guy said he shut off the broadcast as he, “Just can’t stand her and her attitude anymore.”
Those in the waiting room applauded.
